Re: Saudi-Based United Carton Industries Company Invests in Digital with EFI Nozomi Corrugated Printer

Ever since I saw the name Nozomi I was curious where it came from. I found this on wikipedia Nozomi ( Japanese : のぞみ , lit. "Wish" or "Hope," and known before launch as Planet-B ) was a Mars orbiter that failed to reach Mars due to electrical failures. The mission was terminated on December 31, 2003. So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

Re: PostScript Vs Fiery

I agree, processing on the machine has advanced to the point that getting a Fiery is not a necessity. You may still encounter times that it is. If you need Pantone, you must have a Fiery. If you want to expertly adjust colors, you must have a Fiery. If you want to swap back and forth between "Pleasing Color"(when it doesn't matter what red it is, as long and it looks red) and "Accurate Color" (when it doesn't matter if it looks good to you because it's not their logo's red), you need a...

Does it do something to the original document when it is printed to PDF, fix some errors in the document? When trying to print the original document in...

I think the local dealers biggest advantage against the National vendors is flexibility. Dealers naturally have much shorter chains of command due to having far less employees. Therefore, dealers can make quicker decisions. The National Vendors are always going to have the advantage of price and a lesser concern for profitability. If you cant beat them on price, thow in some change-ups on them. 1.Free Pro Services 2 Free HDD Decommissioning 3.Copy Blocks 4. Throw a "bonus" Office Chair,...

Re: B2C defined

Two things going on there. B2C is about how the b&w and color clicks are handled. Basically, a b&w machine that also has color. Some color copiers can't separate out the solely b&w clicks and charge the color cpc for every click. B2C can make the distinction and charge accordingly. "Creative color" is marketing spin to cover the fact that Ricoh B2C color isn't as good as some other manufacturers, such as Konica Minolta's. Our Ricoh trainer guy also used to say "pleasing color" or...

I have had success with scanning utilizing a Twain driver on a 1060. Here are some things to consider. Personal Firewall Software may be blocking communication on the port that Twain uses to communicate...XP for example has a built-in firewall that will block ports used for various service communications...Port 1022 is used for Twain communication....You can check to see if your pc is "Listening" on 1022 by running netstat -a at a command prompt... Since they have the Fiery, once the job is printed it can be archived on the Fiery, all print settings will stay with that job. Make sure they have command work station installed on their PC and log into the fiery controller, right click on the print job and archive it.

Garland: Try chosing a customer who is not in the market right now, and or create a need for your product or feature. There are many features that are different from manufacturer to manufacturer. Try to hone in on a "lock out" feature, a feature which Minolta does not offer and Ricoh does. Then hammer you position. Most of the time we can never win on price, but on sales skills, such as what the customer needs and what they do not think they need. Uncover through interviews the hidden pain...
