5 Ways to Reduce Damp Paper in your Plotter

Art Post ·
Plotters and Wide Format Printers With summer brings the awful heat and humidity to New Jersey along with damp paper issues for plotters. Damp paper will cause print and copy quality issues because the toner and or ink doesn’t adhere to damp paper well. One of the ways to tell if the paper is damp is that the print of copy looks muddled or not a fully formed image. Our technicians refer to the issue as “blotching of the image”. Extreme high and low humidity can cause print & copy quality...

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Eighty-Six of Sales

Art Post ·
Today was one of the most interesting days I've had in quite some time. Let's start off with a BANG! I was able to connect with my net new prospect for a meeting in the AM. This is the net new account for about $30K, this is account that I've lost twice and working a third time around. Good news is that with a blind sampling of print quality my Ricoh device was picked as best quality 5 out of 5 times. Competitors were Sharp and Canon on this one. In a previous blog I spoke my travels to one...

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Ninety-Six of Selling

Art Post ·
I had one appointment today and that appointment was more of a holding hands session with their new copier. I didn't mind because I put the top down on the hardtop and worked on my tan for about 90 minutes with the drive back and forth from the home office. Every time I drive to this client I take the same route. That route takes me past the Garden State Parkway and Route 520 exit. The parkway is a major artery that leads to North Jersey and that's where many of the jobs are. At this...

US GDP dropped 32.9% in the last three months, the worst in US history. Until the US Gov't effects a coherent national COVID-19 strategy, economic activity will not improve and those parking lots will not fill up anytime soon.

COVID19 Remote Working Day One Hundred and Forty-Two of Selling

Art Post ·
COVID19 Remote Working Day One Hundred and Forty of Selling Copiers A very interesting day for me today. Today marketed the first day in 142 days that I spent the entire day in the field! In addition I stopped by the office for a few minutes to pick up a small A4 black MFP that I wanted to deliver to a net new account. My first appointment was early in the day with a net new account. I had to be there by 9AM, thus it was time to make sure I left my home office by 7AM. In most cases with...

COVID19 Remote Working Day One Hundred and Fifty-Three of Selling

WooHoo! One more day we'll be at the seven month mark for working remote or least I will be. Am I happy? Not really because going we're now into the last two months of the fiscal year. In previous years you could do the research on your clients and pick those that you wanted to pay a visit to. In most cases these were the clients that you have the best relationships with. With most businesses not being in the office or sparsely populated in New Jersey that may not work this year. I guess the...

Color Label Press University "Glossary of Terms" Part Eighteen, Course One On the ballot in New Jersey this year is the public question of legalizing marijuana and if approved the new law would take effect on January 1st, 2021. Since New Jersey is a deep blue state I would tend to think that the public question will pass. I can already see the future and I believe there will be a pot store in almost every town in New Jersey. In addition there will an entire industry that will revolve around...

What can I say there really hasn't been that much to write about the last three days. I think as I get closer and closer to the end of the year these blogs may slow down even more. All depends if I can pack a few solid orders away there will be much to write about. November 9th and we had a 75 degree sunny day here in NJ. How many more of these days can we get? Anyway it's a pleasure to enjoy and spring can't come soon enough. New Jersey retreated on some openings today. Technically we are...

COVID19 Remote Working Day Two Hundred and Forty-Nine of Selling Copiers Within a week or two at least here in the Northeast we'll hit the one year mark for COVID19. Two hundred and sixty-five days would mark the full year of selling days, but that doesn't include holidays so the real number is probably 21.5 work days a month which brings us to two hundred and fifty-eight days. At this point in time it's really hard for me to process how long this has been going. Some news in New Jersey, our...

It's the last week of month for me and I'm still trying to find a way to crush my number for the month. What Comes Around Goes Around...

About a week ago I posted a thread in our forums about an appointment I had with a net new account here in New Jersey. I met with the client on Thursday or Friday of that week, went through the discovery process and got the feeling that this opportunity would have a decision sooner rather than later. The reason for that assumption is because the client just completed building out a new space and the supply chain issues our entire industry is experiencing. It's interesting how no one bats an...
