Not liking the Kyocera part of #4 at all. On the other hand really liking # 10 Add: Color equipment will become more prevalent with costs of color equipment continuing to drop and coming more in line with monochrome.

Ah a great subject. Prior to being Century being bought some ten years ago, all of the sales people were required to do their own training to the clients for products and solutions. With the acquisition that changed, the technicians then took on that role, however there was a hefty increase with the cost also. This is what we use to differentiate us from our competition. Honesty up front and no extra hidden billings. There are a number of dealers that don't track profitability or know how to properly price a contract from the beginning. They just raise contract prices because that's what they think the industry does. They have no clue if they are making money on a contract or not. They end up giving the rest of us a bad reputation. Its a painful education process for customers but well worth it...

Had a call today from a very reliable source that Global Imaging Systems will be gone as of January 1st. That person did not say what year, but after hearing from a few other peeps at Global yesterday and today, I'm pretty sure it's this coming January 1st. A little of news this week is that the US Dollar is growing stronger vs the Japanese Yen. When this has happened in the past Japanese copier manufacturers have decreased pricing here in the States. When you couple this with the Chinese tariffs that may go into effect this week, it could mean that our industry may not see price increases. Below is probably one of the most mis-understood printers (well not actually a printer) of our time. The Seri Print 25 was a really cool in-line attachment to the Ricoh duplicators. You would replace the Ricoh ink with Seri Ink, and then you'd be able to print on any gloss coatings. The Seri printer used a UV light to cure the ink on the gloss coat.
