Re: Cost Per Copy and Rate Lock

grizzlyadams ·
We've offered locked in rates for years (Ricoh equipment.) It takes a little explaining on the front end as to why your rate is slightly higher but I think people like the idea of not having to watch over their bill for increases. However most of my leases are only 36 months.

Re: Cost Per Copy and Rate Lock

Well do rate locks also, but there has to be some GP in the deal, since it will come out of the sales person "skin". You should be looking at the T's & C's of the agreement because they may charge excessive dollars to ship supplies. (charging $20 per shipment per month can be quite the upcharge). Also be on the look out for verbiage in the maintenance supply agreement that states something to the effect, "that we can cancel or charge you more if you use too much toner aka fill) Hope this...

The Pull-Economy, it is just a Click Away

Ray Stasiezcko ·
The pull-economy is gaining momentum across many industries when will the Imaging Channel be impacted? Let’s go back in time. Back when copying and print usage was growing. Everybody was printing everything. The information one read was read from paper, back then things just CLICKED away. Customers leased hardware and paid for service by the click. Print Manufactures sold their A-3 through distribution channels made up of independent dealers; some had direct operations as well. A-4, for the...

Cost Per Copy and Rate Lock

TML ·
I've bumped in to this a few times in the last few weeks and wanted some input. Lately we've been up against a plethora of lower tier devices (Kyocera/Sharp/Toshiba boxes). In 3/4 of these situations, several of the competitors have been able to lock clicks for the term of the lease. They're coming in at $.0069 - $.0074 / $.04-$.05. Is this the new normal or has this always been an acceptable locked click rate?

"We always sold the highest cost equipment and program we could that’s what we were compensated to do." I can't agree with this, there are many times as reps that we need revenue to hit our quota's. In addition, even though my comp plan rewarded me for selling the highest cost equipment. In many instances I did sold the client what they needed and not what I needed to sell. Ty for posting this blog, I just keep on learning and learning, it's awesome!

We saw an initial dip with some devices reporting no usage over April/May. In talking to our contracts admin this week we’re starting to see a slow, gradual increase of usage. Here in PA, we expect beginning of July to start to come back to normal. Speaking to some accounts it’ll be end of summer, September until they’ve got full time staff back in. But we are seeing some increase in volumes for sure.

Thanks for the info guys! I didn't think about that, but there are likely some offices that open fully by September once the summer is over and schools potentially start back up. Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated!
