Re: 57 Days of Selling "Day 44"

Jason H ·
Love it Art! I had a day of running around with a networking luncheon followed by a training for a new device that I sold earlier in the month and stole from Sharp. I was extremely late to the party with this deal but they already had a canon that was very old and decided they wanted another canon and on top of that wanted someone to deal with local over Sharp and Ricoh direct. Then I was walking into the grocery store on the way home and got a call from a person I quoted a machine to about...

PPDM is a free software package from Nuance that is bundled with most Ricoh MFP's. One license only, allows the user to connect via server to set customer scan applications at the PC. Like scan2excel, scan2word, scan2sharepoint (i believe), plus searchable .pdfs, pdf fillable forms, data extraction (have not used this yet). SAS, software as a service. Most companies are moving to this model such as Print Audit has now done with Print Audit Secure. Other SAS models would be Document Mall from...

Re: Doc Mall Questions

From: ricohaficio Sent: 2/6/2002 5:27 PM When any user is set up in Doc Mall, they are set up with a default cabinet for storage that they can write to. My question: Is there anyway to not let the user have a default mailbox? Here is the reason for not wanting a user cabinet. Doc Mall can be set to replace "fax on demand" systems. We send all of the documents to the cabinet and set folders (all of the documents are stored in a pdf format). We then give one user name along with passcode in...

From: Ted Sent: 3/11/2002 7:16 AM Brian, as for me 4.5 years copier sales, but 17 total in sales. Copier sales to me are the easist sales in the world. Yes you have good and bad months, but everyone in business NEEDS what we have. Not so with other sales jobs. A business cannot operate these days without printers, faxes and copiers. Lately, you can add scanning to that list. With the advent of the doc mall and e-cabinet, once you get a customer using this type of technology, they will never...

Re: Macintosh Desktop Faxing and a 1022

Monte, I can't answer the question about hanging the cheap PC on the MAC network. However you can accomplish a workaround with the fax board, docuement mall, some type of efax service and a LAN Fax program for Mac (is there a WINFAX for MAC?). Have the efax service or equivulant deliver the mail as tiff or pdf to the mail address for an "incoming fax" folder in doc mall. From there the user can view and distrbute the faxes via email to the other Mac users. This will also enable them for Scan...

AS far as I know, there is no scanning w/PS III, no job binder features either. I would make sure that they have adobe Acrobat (which they probably do) and they can create all of the pages in that environment. Remember that you can sell them Document Mall Browswer MFP and email the docs to Doc Mall and then download them to the mac to have a scanning solution! ...and that takes me full-circle back to my discussion of "document management strategies". It's too early for me to say that I've found the perfect transition into the next phase of our industry, but I'm certainly giving it a shot! Of course, we've all been discussing this type of stuff amongst ourselves for years, but...

Neal: Yes it would be great to access from here. However we are not a Ricoh endorsed site. There are some @ big R who are not happy with our site. Why? I have no idea (somw say there is too much information here), I believe we keep the Ricoh excitment alive, share new ideas, and share stories and above all move more boxes. Do you need a copy, I can email it to you or upload to doc mall. You can access it there.

Since they have the Fiery, once the job is printed it can be archived on the Fiery, all print settings will stay with that job. Make sure they have command work station installed on their PC and log into the fiery controller, right click on the print job and archive it.

You can still use the document server with the fiery using the fiery postscript driver or the fiery pcl driver. In the PS driver just click the job properties tab, check document server, and fill in a name or whatever you want.

The e306LP offers a colour scanner. The scans can be either blue or black based upon your selection.

Re: e-STUDIO 306LP Question

While the e306LP is an innovative product it is unlikely to displace any colour unit sales. As colour is more than half of what I sell, this leaves this product with a declining mono colour market to appeal to. The RD30 recycle unit makes the price of the solution much more than an equivalent eStudio 306. The e306LP does not have a stapling option. I find that most customers are interested in the ideas of ecology with their copiers but they are not willing to pay a premium for it.
