Re: top challenges faced by sales reps on a day to day basis

One of the biggest obstacles up until recently, was having to answer to a Sales Manager, who was totally incompetent, and the micro management he adopted in trying to gain kudos with management for his failure to produce a winning team formula was ridiculous. Fortunately, they have since given him the boot, and life is starting to get back to normal.

Re: Calculating Lease Costs and Effective Purchase Price W/O interest

CashGap ·
You're getting good answers, but sometimes the third of fourth approach to answering the question helps. Not to imply that the previous answers are incorrect or incomplete. 1. "Lease Rate" is a convenience, given to you so that you can multiply your selling price by a number and end up with a payment acceptable to the lessor. 2. The "Short answer" from your leasing company is "We'll do that deal for 36 months at 0.0302". 3. The "Long answer" which they will seldom give you is: - We believe...

Re: Lexmark Dealer MFPs vs IT Channel MFPs

txeagle24 ·
The MFP's and single-function printers available via the Lexmark BSD channel are keyed differently than their counterparts that are available online & through the VAR channel. When orders are placed via Ingram Micro or TechData, a BSD receives discounts on both hardware and consumables. The impact the discounted consumables have on lowering the CPP is pretty significant, at least enough so to keep my customers from buying the hardware at a slightly lower price online.

jeremy....thanks for the info. Yes, it is a SHARP! Just like anything that is released in beta there are going to be bugs to be worked out. Just ask Micro$oft. The final firmware has not been confirmed yet before the release. I am sure just like any make or model someone somewhere can find a glitch here and there. But you must admit once those bugs are worked out it will open some eyes.

So much of this sounds all too familiar. I recently left a dealer direct branch in New England. I was a top producer nationally, and earned close to 200K. Then the company "restructured" the comp plan, basically ensuring I could only earn half of what I had been making. Great way to reward reps who are selling a million dollars worth of your gear per year. Oh, plus they froze 401k matching, expenses, etc. The last and final straw however, if that wasn't bad enough- the branch manager had the...
