Is the education IT market starting to see the benefits of managed services?

Art Post ·
Could there be any more different consumers of technology than a rural primary school and the engineering faculty of a Russell Group University? The education ICT market is delicate – from the fragility of its funding to the vast range of knowledge and appetite for technology amongst its decision makers. Therefore, managed services have had very different levels of impact, but at Stone we’re beginning to see things change. If you asked 10 teachers what a managed IT service was, you’d...

9 New School Approaches To Help Copier Sales Reps Prospect In All The Right Places

Larry Levine ·
In all copier sales departments across the country and yes even in Australia, there is not a week that goes by where you hear this, “Nothing happens until a sale is made." Yes, sales is the life-blood of any organization but I submit to you the following... Art, Great article I always used the purpose question when hiring. Ask the candidate what their purpose is, what would drive their core being to do what every it takes as long as it's legal, moral, and ethical to succeed in the career of sales? When people have the conviction for their purpose they will have the strength needed when the world of circumstances attempts to stop their momentum.

This is a tough business and finding young blood who are willing to gut it out is HARD. I've been in this industry for 5 years now and every year the thought of quitting enters my mind. The reasoning to stick around has to be more than just about money. For me, lasting 10 years in copier sales is the equivalent to getting my "black belt" in "the art of selling." I already have the confidence to feel like I can do anything -- real estate, start my own business, etc... I've gone through the...
