Hey Art, Been selling WSCA for years and frankly only do it because I have to. it is a lot of work for extremely little pay. Even the service is not that great for the dealer end. So when I can I find a way around it.

Its a nightmare for dealers. Ricoh can't get their act together on the paperwork. Its a loser. Also you don't get rewards points on machines when you use this program. Avoid it unless its the only way possible.

Re: Cost Per Copy and Rate Lock

grizzlyadams ·
We've offered locked in rates for years (Ricoh equipment.) It takes a little explaining on the front end as to why your rate is slightly higher but I think people like the idea of not having to watch over their bill for increases. However most of my leases are only 36 months.

Re: Cost Per Copy and Rate Lock

Art Post ·
Well do rate locks also, but there has to be some GP in the deal, since it will come out of the sales person "skin". You should be looking at the T's & C's of the agreement because they may charge excessive dollars to ship supplies. (charging $20 per shipment per month can be quite the upcharge). Also be on the look out for verbiage in the maintenance supply agreement that states something to the effect, "that we can cancel or charge you more if you use too much toner aka fill) Hope this...

Finally got a response from Ricoh regarding the SP C730DN: The product has been suspended. There is a fix planned but we were not happy with the schedule. We want to minimize the disruption to our end-users and to our business. Re: Curious about how everyone verfies Cost Per Page

If you can sit with accounts, or get invoices, best way to go. However, if they push back on that, I fall back to "industry standards" from a TCO site like FM audit or LDI. When they question my numbers, I then use that to ask for their actual invoices so we can verify.

Jus an FYI - on low volume devices, or on local connected devices, we go with a flat rate per month. Much easier on all, and several years worth of history doing this in many marketplaces shows we are making money on flat rate deals.

The “New Math” For Managed Print Services by Print Audit One of the difficulties I’ve always had with MPS as it is marketed today, is the apparent conflict of interest that exists between MPS providers and their customers, under the Cost-Per-Page (CPP) billing model.
