Re: Sharp "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"

Art, I'm in Japan this week meeting with key clients and have asked this question to several. In typical fashion, no one wants to speculate on what will happen. Is this a good or bad sign? Is Sharp changing a good sign? If it doesn't is this bad, or does it mean it is continuing its commitment to our industry? Since the year 2000, 50% of Fortune 500 companies have fallen from its ranks--no longer considered leaders (by at least that standard). This is most often due leadership...

Found this in my google alerts It's an impairment loss linked to the acquisition of IKON and MindShift; a recognition that their past strategy didn't work. What is important to know is that they're not actually losing money. Everything's described in the press release you're linking; and I urge the interested people to read it, and also the February 2018 presentation linked to in the article. There's no reason to panic

There's an interesting thread below about an RBS sales person that person accepted $3,500 from a copier sales person so that RBS could win that bid of 73 copiers. Which raises in interesting question about gifts, trips and prizes to a person that works for a corporation if they buy their copiers from xyz dealer. It's my understanding that any gift, trip or prize is then the property of the corporation and not the person (decision maker). Yet, we find some dealers openly engaging in offering...

From the amount of threads there was some awesome activity. While reading through one of the threads, I noticed the Samsung SCX 6345N. For me, this was the start of the A4 multifunctional era. I believe cost for the 45ppm device was somewhere around $1,900 with MSRP about $4,000. Not much room for margin, however I can remember acquiring many net new accounts with the Sammy because there was no need for 11x17. Funny, it's ten years later and many manufacturers still refuse to give us full...
