Thanks Art. Basically looking for any experience with Canon, KM, Ricoh, or Xerox warranties. Which programs are strong, which are weak, are there needs that some brands are best at supporting, etc?

Hi All – Looking for any insights and feedback you guys have on warranty programs (esp. Canon, KM, Ricoh, Xerox). Specifically what's the typical program offerings/higher tier benefits , details and experience with claims/reimbursements , and especially benefits of parts warranty (for example, hearing Canon is not great in parts, doesn’t cover some/all once installed). Putting together a summary on this and happy to share when complete (pls PM). Appreciate any and all details/experience.

With the help of P4P Hotel members I've been able to understand the terms and conditions of the program. Once you understand those you can put together a strategy to point out the good, the bad and the ugly. Tricia, I find it interesting that you suggest that Art Post may have a conflict of interest because he sells Ricoh. What you don't know is the what's and why's surrounding the creation of the p4photel. I know because I was there. Ricoh used to have a message board where Ricoh reps could dialog with one another throughout the country. That is until Ricoh reps started sharing even the ugly (which every manufacturer has). How interesting that she deleted her LinkedIn article and thread comments. Maybe she found out that there was a catch? Once again a great reminder that there is a difference between bashing your competitors and educating yourself and others on the differences between them.

If a client prints 5k per month and you say "the volume over 5k is free"....what are they going to do...print 10k per month? Wow, they change their workflow for 5k x .0065. How about if the customer says we are getting charged .07 per page color and you can show them .025 or .022 per page. Now that's a game changer when a company is running 5k color per month. Did you know 70% of the color print volume has less than 10% coverage, yet the industry still charges at 20% rate?

So the customer is going to toss printer assets? No cpp escalators on the one rate? No requirements for the contract: minimum pages or hardware? Dear Mr. Customer: "As long as you buy MFP's at List Price" and renew every 3 years, we can give you this great program...."

I've had a few calls in the last few days about the KM 1rate program reeling it's ugly head again. We shared some documents about a year ago, however I'm hearing that some of the talking points we used to shoot down the program are not legit anymore. Again this is hearsay and no one can confirm. Does anyone have a new set of KM 1Rate lease docs or can any clarify what has changed? Can anyone help? Art

Would be nice if others could help with this. I had a chat last week with a former KM rep about the changes in 1Rate KM program. It was stated that KM has dropped the auto escalator for the hardware and the maintenance. However it was stated that KM has raise the monthly rates for 1Rate three times since last year to cover the loss of the escalations. I was also told there was a freight fee for shipping of supplies. This is billed every month even if the client does not receive supplies. I...
