Re: This Copier Changed My Sales Life 15 Years Ago this Week!

fisher ·
Those were good times indeed. Big commissions and big points on the Ricoh credit card to boot. Very short lived though. I was doing one or two wide formats a month in addition to all of the mid-volume color machines that customers were buying. By 2008 it was over and the wide format market has never recovered. In the past 12 months I've sold 4 wide formats and only one was a brand new unit.

I agree with you, by 2008 the big Aficio points and the big commissions were gone. All of the other manufacturers caught up with the technology. In addition Ricoh rested on their laurels with the 240W and waited way to long to bring an upgrade to the market place. I average about 1.5 new wide formats per month, GP is significantly down, but it's now a decent revenue generator. The Ricoh MP W6700SP is now three years old and needs a refresh. What does Ricoh have in the works?

Hopefully whatever they replace the 6700 with is another compact machine that can be carried up a flight of stairs like the old 240 was.

I'm thinking of doing the premium membership I'm in The dfw area of Texas. Do you get a lot of copier leads for the state of Texas?

Hi Karl, I've seen at least a couple over my time here. The real benefit (IMHO) of the premium membership is the pricing and proposals you are privy to. It really helps to get an understanding of what street pricing is for certain brands and models.

Hey karl there are leads for Texas, and Texas is so massive there are spread out. Czech hit the nail on the head if you're just in it for the leads you maybe disappointed, it's the other stuff that has more value. Don't get me wrong their will be leads I just can guarantee how many and where they will come from

Currently Copier Solution Shop doesn't have Solutions for Ricoh's Wide-format Color-range. Depending on requirements form the market, we develop whatever is needed, as long as there is a commercial bases for it. The example of this Output Tray, that was initiated by Art Post, shows that the US market is contributing in the development of new products! After developing this specific product for Art, Ricoh Europe also showed interest and they are considering to add it to their European...

New "E" Size Wide Format Exit Tray for Ricoh Wide Format from Copier Solution Shop

Art Post ·
Woohoo! I love selling wide format systems. I've been selling the Ricoh line of wide format systems since 1998, and with almost twenty years of experience that kinda puts me in the status of resident wide format guru with the Dealership that I work for. In October of 2015, Ricoh USA launched the MP W7100/W8140SP black LED toner based wide format MFP's. Just about five months later Ricoh USA launched the third model in the series which was the MP W6700. Basically the same engine for all three...

General opinions from the show floor was that the first day was much better than last years event. There was some issues with registrations in the AM, I heard that many attendees had waited almost an hour to get their badges. I was not able to secure a badge until mid-day, however Jessica went above a beyond the call of duty to get me on to the show floor asap. There was a small problem with my registration not being finished. Hard to believe when someone with ITEX walked me through the...

This Copier Changed My Sales Life 15 Years Ago this Week!

Art Post ·
It's late on Friday night, for most their work is over for the week. Me, I need to do updates and frankly I've been lagging in my blogging as of late. It's not because I don't want to write, it's mainly because there hasn't been something that triggered me to write. Nothing unusual in sales, nothing unusual in the field and I've had my nose to the grindstone looking to hit numbers. Until tonight when I needed to post up my series "This Week in the Copier Industry 15 Years Ago this Week" .

Building on the global success of the Output Tray ROT-1 used for the Ricoh (Savin Lanier) MP W6700/W7140/8100 wide format MFPs. Copier Solution Shop is now offering the Output Tray ROT-1XL. Beta Testing I've been able to place two of these with existing clients for a beta testing. One client is a commercial building contractor who prints many "E" size drawings. After several months of testing the client is happy with performance of the exit tray because it allows them to stack up to 50 "E"...

Hey everyone I received the response below from one of our Print4Pay Hotel (special thanx to our member for the below comment) members. See below The MSRP stated is accurate based on the price sheets Epson provided to me. The dealer is including the total quoted package in the MSRP. The BIG outright error I see on that dealer’s quote is the .009/page in color. Must be a new dealer – the retail MSRP for color ink is indeed $450 for a 50,000 page color ink, but that’s the MSRP for ONE color...

This Week in the Copier Industry 15 Years Ago

This Week in Copiers Fifteen Years Ago Last Week of April 2008 Real Copier Sales One of my stops was to an existing wide format Architect. Luckily my Architect was in the office and what was suppose to be a meet and greet turned into a thirty minute appointment. My client did not have a need to replace the existing device, however we yucked it up about getting old, the high taxes in New Jersey, and thought of leaving New Jersey. My client then asked what the rest of my day was like and I...
