Re: RISO ME9450 Questions
Aside from RISO's SF5130, all of their duplicators now come standard with a network card for network printing. However, printing from MAC OS requires ordering a Mac Driver which requires a license key ordered from RISO - doesn't cost anything to order. Also, RISO's Mac Drivers are always behind with current Mac OS versions. They haven't released a driver compatible with OS X 10.15 even though it's been about 6 months since 10.15 was released. Sorry I'm late to the party.

Great info. It seems Mac users upgrade their OS much more frequently than Windows users. This is why most of our Mac users have chosen (been persuaded ) to use scan to email. However, there are times when scan to email is no substitute for scan to folder.

I'll leave #2 and #3 to those more Mac literate but I can tell you that, unless something has changed in recent models, #1 can only be accomplished with the optional File Format Converter...MSRP $739.

The only way to extract documents from the Document Server is to install the File Format Converter before inputting the documents and also have it installed on the new product...that ship has probably already sailed. We usually use a stack of Post-it notes and manually print them out and input them. Very tedious, but the only method that really works that I know of. When configured properly the Mac drivers should be able to do most everything the Windows drivers can...finding a user...

The features are all there on a Mac but they are buried in the driver in places that may not be easy to find for the user. Best bet is to find out what advanced features the customer will use then dig for the settings and set them up as printer pre-sets.

I just ran across this today and thought I would share with everyone. Picked it up from spiceworks You can work around it by installing Gutenprint which will allow the Mac to Print via PCL. Art, Parallels is a virtual Machine that exists within the Mac, but it is just like any other Windows 8 PC. You need a Windows 8 PS Driver (if that is the language on the Ricoh). Hope this helps! Vince PS: I run Windows 7 in Parallelson my Mac Airbook.
