We bought one of the C300 when they were clearing them out and imagine my surprise to learn we also had to put toner in it! All the other printer based models come with starter cartridges. Anyway, the toner cost more than the fricken machine!!

The High Cost of Noncompliance in Health Care

David Bailey ·
Health care IT security has been lackluster of late, to say the least, as countless breaches of patient data have taken place in a relatively short period of time with no signs of a changing tide rolling in soon. This is one of the many reasons why regulators and law enforcement officials have started to come down hard on hospitals and other medical firms that are not doing everything in their power to maintain compliance and protect information from the grasp of hackers and other threats.

What is a Searchable PDF & Why it's Still Important with Copiers

Art Post ·
Sometimes we need to educate right?    At all of my appointments, I will mention that our devices will scan documents to searchable .pdf's.  I will then follow up with, "do you know the benefits of being able to create...

New Ricoh MP C401 C401SR Spec Review

Art Post ·
I was surprised to say the least. I knew there was a 40 page per minute color A4 (letter & legal size paper) due soon, but, I thought it might be an entirely new clean sheet design since the older MP C300 & MP C400 were never big movers for us. As I reviewed the specs of the new MP C401 I realized that not much has changed at least feature wise since the MP C300/400. Yes, you can now add an optional 10.1 Wide Super VGA Smart Operation panel that...

Reasons to offer an OCR solution

Iris ·
The creation of searchable .pdf's is a great thing. Especially if it happens automatically. However, many MFPs still do not provide this service. I can think of six ways in which including OCR services in your offer will add value to your proposal....

Interesting thread from ten years ago is the thread about Padded Lease Rates! Ethical or Unethical. Personally. I've never been a fan of this, and I also think it's theft by deception. Call it what you want, I also believe there should be some type of regulation especially when a "price" is published and or agreed to and then the lease rate is padded and the price is not what was stated. Enjoy these threads!! Topic Weekend Notes from the Copier Industry for 9/30/07 10/1/077:46 PM next 12...

This Week in the Copier Industry 15 Years Ago, The First Week of February 2003

Ok, I get it, seems like 15 years ago there were some active weeks and maybe a few slower weeks with threads. What I did see is a thread from Monte! Which is really cool, Monte and I speak from time to time and we've developed a relationship over the years. It's really something when you can develop that kind of relationship by communicating in a forum. There's been many times that Monte helped me get a deal because of his knowledge and I'm sure I've helped him out a few time also. But,...

Interesting threads from 15 years ago. Imagistics (anyone remember them), Panasonic, Mita (now Kyocera), ah does it bring back those memories. Speaking of memories, does anyone remember when Sharp was King of the copier industry? It was back in the mid to late eighties. When I was selling Minolta copiers for a dealer in the early eighties whenever a client asked about a Ricoh device, we responded with "what's a Ricoh"? Enjoy the threads from 15 years ago! Re: The High Cost of Noncompliance in Health Care

ViaTRON Geoff ·
2014 and early 2015 we had a huge surge in business performing scanning projects for the healthcare industry. However late 2015 and now in 2016 that has basically gone down dramatically. I think that bubble has burst (so to speak).
