Re: Sold MY First Xante Ricoh Envelope Press today

msaeger ·
One was sold from our office. They are having some trouble with feeding so xante is sending them another print engine. I think it looks like a good system and have not read anything bad about them. We have a customer with another machine from us who bought a xante from someone else and they love it.

Re: Ricoh Adds New Color Envelope Printer

jlsquared20125 ·
Art, When you get the chance take a look at the iQueue software that comes with this system. It is a very complete package which includes the ability to automatically recognize Spot colors, and allows you to manipulate them. This software will output to just about any device you can load a print driver for. I tested it on a Fiery driven device with excellent results.

OK, you need to change the 6502 to "Driver Command". Press "User tools" Press "printer settings" Press "system" Press "Tray setting Priority" Select "by-pass" and then set to "driver command" That will do it

So, we are having this issue, as well, however I did this (even before I searched P4P thinking I would be the save the day-er) and it still does not work. We have tried different thicknesses, different directions, flap opened/closed, changing SP modes, and my guys are now into taking the fusing section apart for adjustment. Any other tips you may have run into on the C6502's with envelopes that can help us out? We are installing in a large account where I have multiple locations waiting for...

I believe there may have been ad adjustment that we made somewhere near the registration rollers, don't have a tech here to confirm. You could always take the 6502 out and replace with the 6003SP, they run envelopes even better

Re: To Ricoh "What I Want for Christmas"

txeagle24 ·
The best thing Ricoh could give us is advanced scanning functionality as a standard feature. To be able to navigate to whatever network folder a user wants would be huge, as would the ability to scan to Word or Excel. Canon already has these features, so we are at a huge price disadvantage if it is functionality a customer needs since we have to add ICE (which has a less-than-desirable UI) or NSI AutoStore.

I was not aware that browse to any folder was standard on the Canon systems. Has it been like that for long?

I think it's been the most recent generation of equipment. I could be wrong on that one, but I'm positive on the OCR.

Just to add on to that we have had a great success of running the envelopes from the tray. Customers have had very few complaints with it other than the occasional jam.

Maybe they are going to sell this thing. http://www.xante.com/product-i...h-enterprise-feeder/ I was at a customer that has one and they think it is awesome. I was really surprised since this is really just a workgroup printer and it doesn't have a very straight paper path. Part of what they really liked was the xante software driving it.

that's what I'm hoping, the printer feeds envelopes very well and is very reliable. I hope that if Ricoh comes out with this, they have something similar to xante's software.

I had a good chuckle from one of the threads from ten years ago. The thread stated, "Envelopes should be a four letter word". Boy oh boy, do I remember when we couldn't print envelopes with our copiers and our printers. Can the Ricoh SP C831dn print A2 Color Envelopes?

Art Post ·
The first time I heard the size A2 envelope, I really didn't have a clue what the dimensions were.  While visiting my Guru of Envelope Printing, I saw that he had purchased an SP831DN printer from a print shop that was going out of business.  I asked, "how is the printer working for you", my Guru stated, "ah, not so well, whenever I feed A2 envelopes the system will jam".  I asked where, and my Guru stated that the envelopes feed a short distance from the by-pass tray and then...

I Had an Awesome Day and Didn't Sell A Copier aka Print Device

Art Post ·
I'm thinking it was 2006 when I first met Dave. Dave had this really cool setup for printing color envelopes on one of the first Oki color A3 laser print engines. At that time Dave definitely had one printer running and If I remember correctly had a few more that were primed for back ups. Back in 2006 it was quite uncommon to see a color laser printer that would feed envelopes without wrinkling them. Could have also been because I only carried the Ricoh brand and back in 2006 they were not...

Art, The same thing happened to me this week. We had a customer that had a Canon iRc4580, Toshiba (something awful we upgraded 2.5 in on a 5 year) and now a Canon iRc5250. The customer has a real old school key op that does a variety of interoffice work on this device. I was called back in to do some follow up training and the users had two very specific requests. One, Millie (real name), needed to know how to take her copy of a list of the same return address onto label sheets from the...
