The e306LP offers a colour scanner. The scans can be either blue or black based upon your selection.

That's good right? I was just curious if when scanning the blue the scanned documents would be very light even if you were scanning with the black mode.

Re: e-STUDIO 306LP Question

While the e306LP is an innovative product it is unlikely to displace any colour unit sales. As colour is more than half of what I sell, this leaves this product with a declining mono colour market to appeal to. The RD30 recycle unit makes the price of the solution much more than an equivalent eStudio 306. The e306LP does not have a stapling option. I find that most customers are interested in the ideas of ecology with their copiers but they are not willing to pay a premium for it.

We are using Print Audit also, we've had a few hiccups, although it was not Print Audit it was the Ricoh devices. I'm the one who hears it first when the customer runs out, I've had a couple of issues, but that's it. Seems to be working well for my accounts.

Re: Auto Toner Fulfillment

Czech ·
We have auto toner fulfillment via 3rd party software. Essentially the software sends an email alert to our supplies department when a customer's machine requires toner. Have true automated toner fulfillment was unsuccessful because toner was shipping out like crazy. Now we require confirmation from the customer before we ship it out. It's a great system and saves us providing back up toner to customers that they store on-site, essentially improving the P&L on our every account.

Re: Ricoh MP 301 toner question

Hey Art! I don't know about MICR toner for this specific model, however what models in general are MICR supported? Last I knew Ricoh had a larger BW box that was MICR enabled, but couldn't find anything about it. Did find some outfit out on the West Coast that would retrofit a BW Canon for MICR, but we never went that route due to them not being authorized and didn't want to jeopardize Canon service support. MICR's an interesting niche that is still necessary though.

I don't know if it is as simple as just adding a MICR toner...I know you can put standard toner in a MICR printer but I don't know if you can do the converse. All the Ricoh MICR printers we have purchased have been through Rosetta Technologies. You can contact them here (800) 937-4224 info@rosettatechnologies.com

Re: Ricoh MP 301 toner question

I recently sold a few of the smaller Ricoh printers (not from Rosetta) and have them using the Rosetta MICR cartridges. There is a small tab on the cartridge that needs to be removed. back in the day I use to reman cartridges and I know you can or could buy MIRC toner for almost any printer or copier

My understanding is MICR is just an additive that you can add to any toner. You'd just have to source it and figure out how much to add.
