Another thing all of these new machines including the 6502 and 8100 have is an insanely fast ADF, 120 sheets per minute or 240 images per minute duplex. Everyone that sees these comments how fast the ADF is.

same here, equally as impressive is that it will scan to USB just as fast. Customer wanted to take the scanned files back to the office after the demo to make sure they were searchable and check the quality

I do, please place this question on the forums and I'm sure you'll have many response. First one I can think of is Time Payment (rates are skyhigh). I would also check out my friends at Lease Corporation of America.

Nice thread about the Seri Printer below. I recently sold a Seri Printer with a Ricoh HQ9000 duplicator, well it was last year. I ran across the perfect application and pretty much knew there was no one else in the US that would even think of offering the Seri Printer and the Duplicator. Ricoh discontinued the Seri Printer in the US about ten years ago. To make a long story short I met the inventor of the Seri Print back in 2002 when I visited Japan. He was England or Scotland I think. I...

Scanning, scanning and more scanning, it seems that's all anyone wants to do with MFP's anymore.  Prospects want to know how they can print and copy less and scan more. What this suggests to me is that it's just a matter of time before the...

Five Reasons to Consider the Contex SD One MF Color Wide Format Scanner

Art Post ·
About eighteen months ago, I posted a blog titled “ What I Like about the New Contex SD One Color Scanner” . The SD One Color Scanner was the first true large format color desktop scanner on the market. Not only did the system have a small foot print but with a weight of only 18.6lbs, the Contex SD One was excellent for construction sites. With the recent addition of the Contex SD One MF, Contex has knocked it out of the box again with a portable wide format scanner. The Contex SD one MF...

Contex HDiFLEX Scanner Spec/Feature Review

Many years ago, you couldn't buy a copy machine with an automatic document feeder. It was, as I called it, "one on and one off", meaning you could only place one document at a time of the glass platen.  What a drag that was, right?   Back in...

Ten years ago Ricoh released the IS760 & IS 760D scanners. These scanners had a terrific speed, and they also had a platen glass. Back then I thought that somemanufacturer would release a high speedscan station with scan2email, scan2folder,scan2print and TWAIN driver. Ten years later and Ricoh is effectively out of the scanner business, and no manufacturer has yet to step forward with the scan station with the features I described in...

What is a Zero Turn Scanning Productivity Center?

Hand feed a wide format sheet of paper to be scanned, baby sit that sheet of paper while it's being scanned, then remove the scanned sheet of paper from the scanner. Wait, we're not done yet, and then place that scanned sheet of paper in the "scanned" area. Imagine having to do this one to three hundred times a day, and five days a week. What an incredible waste of time, right? When it comes to wide format scanners and most wide format multifunctional devices, our clients are doomed to that...

There's a tremendous amount of data that you can consume from a brochure. Sure, the brochure will give the specs, the data and a nice glossy photo. That's all useful data when you have the conversation with the decision maker and or the IT person. What the brochure won't tell you is what type of accounts may have the need for the IQ Flex wide format color...

Hey Art! I started using Aweber email software about 5 months ago. I send out a monthly newsletter with a customized template. People read it! Best part is that you always stay top of mind with your prospects. I actually exported my contact list from my CRM software and imported that into Aweber. Currently have about 100 prospects and customers in my email list. It's great! Much cheaper than a mailer.

This Week in the Copier Industry 10 Years Ago, The First Week in August 2008

A little of news this week is that the US Dollar is growing stronger vs the Japanese Yen. When this has happened in the past Japanese copier manufacturers have decreased pricing here in the States. When you couple this with the Chinese tariffs that may go into effect this week, it could mean that our industry may not see price increases. Japanese manufacturers might just bite the bullet on the increases in order to keep boxes moving out of the plants. BTW, the dude in the picture, had just a...
