Re: Riso Stops Offering Printed Brochures for Their Products?
From what I remember I do not think I would want to hand out brochures from a ComColor device. Were they not more for communication than presentation? I know it has been awhile for me so perhaps they have evolved. Just sayin'.

Re: Riso Stops Offering Printed Brochures for Their Products?
Rick: You are correct, brochures printed on the comcolor would be, well let's say not that impressive, unless they printed them on the "rice paper" which would probably cost more than buying a full color printed brochure!! Too funny!

So the stacks of ComColor brochures I've got just became more valuable?

Re: Riso Stops Offering Printed Brochures for Their Products?
I am not sure what you are talking about since RISO has stacks of brochures that are being handed out everyday. I know a year ago RISO was updating the brochures so maybe the end user was not able to get one in that transition time

Re: Riso Stops Offering Printed Brochures for Their Products?
this blog was from over a year ago. "Today, I get an email from my people that Riso (a company that lives and dies with putting ink on paper) is no longer offering full color printed brochures." I'm thinking that RISO reversed that decision on the brochures.

Re: Settlement of schools’ copier contract ‘spends to save’ with Xerox (flate rate program)
WTF? Now Xerox is offering "flat rate"? Toshiba charging per student? Would love to hear from others on this

Re: Settlement of schools’ copier contract ‘spends to save’ with Xerox (flate rate program)
Toshiba charged ABSS $8.34 per student per quarter, or more than $750,000 a year, while Xerox charges a flat rate for unlimited black-and-white copies of $49,953 per month for 59 months, or $599,436 a year.

First Ive heard of this and it's concerning that this is in a school district. wish I had more details. The school district is in North Carolina curious if there is an open records act there, would be great to see the t's & c's. @Jason H is this something you can get?

Re: Who Would be a Viable Buyer for Toshiba Tec?
Makes me wonder what may happen. From my talks with muratec, of course I'm not in a high position of being in the know, it sounds like the label presses will become their go to product and eventually the mfp's will be less important to them. It would be interesting to me if Samsung sold to HP for a billion (I'm not sure why HP thought they were getting a steal by paying a billion for the copier division) and then Samsung turns around and says "thanks for the billion dollars, now we are going...

Wow, that would be a kick in the ass with Samsung. I was thinking a little more and thought Epson might be a candidate also. Just my two cents!

Re: Who Would be a Viable Buyer for Toshiba Tec?
I figure the way Samsung treats everyone else in the tech world they would be laughing all the way to the bank with their billion, and then laugh all the way to the bank buying a company with a more whole product portfolio.....look at what they do with apple. Steal a patent and just pay off the lawsuit judgements and move on.

Re: My Two Cents on Toshiba and Toshiba Tec
Many buyers including Apple have expressed keen interest in buying Toshiba Corp's semiconductor/ chip business. It is expected that the proceeds will more than cover all of Toshiba Corp's debt. http://appleinsider.com/articl...lash-memory-business Even if Toshiba Corp sold off its 50% interest in Toshiba Tec, it would not generate enough cash to make much difference in removing Toshiba Corp's debt. Toshiba Tec's diversification of product lines is key to its long term viability.

Re: Toshiba Tec shares rise more than 6 percent on sale report
By Christine Chou -- Japanese consumer electronics giant Toshiba on Monday denied reports saying it had been considering selling shares in subsidiary Toshiba Tec, a cash register systems maker. A Nikkei report previously claimed the near-bankrupt electronics firm was seeking to sell part of Toshiba Tec in order to plug an upcoming US$6.3 billion write down for its U.S. nuclear unit. According to the report, Toshiba has selected an advisory firm to help find a buyer soon for the point-of-sale...

The above thread is a writer making some assumptions. His assumption is that Toshiba Tec would make a quicker and easier sale for Toshiba to generate cash. The Company operates in two business segments. The System Solution segment is involved in the development, manufacture, sale and maintenance of point-of-sale (POS) systems,...
