Interesting thread from ten years ago is the thread about Padded Lease Rates! Ethical or Unethical. Personally. I've never been a fan of this, and I also think it's theft by deception. Call it what you want, I also believe there should be some type of regulation especially when a "price" is published and or agreed to and then the lease rate is padded and the price is not what was stated. Enjoy these threads!! Topic Weekend Notes from the Copier Industry for 9/30/07 10/1/077:46 PM next 12...

This week, there's an excellent sales tip that we posted ten years ago. The tip goes on to explain that you have the believe in what you're selling. You also need to believe in yourself and your abilities. We all have slumps from time to time, some just happen for no reason and others are self created (not prospecting). So, when the going gets tough, get back to prospecting, it's jut good medicine. Enjoy the threads from ten years ago this week. Only on the P4P forums! c411DN Ricoh Printer...

Five Hacks That Will Help You Sell More Copiers (due)

Years ago, the most coveted piece of data that you could acquire about the a company was the name of the decision maker. Almost forty years later the name of the decision maker is almost worthless unless you also have their email address. In our last "hack", I wrote about contacting a decision maker through their "contact us" web page, and how to find an email address of an influencer from that "contact us" web page. I n 2006, at least for me, wide format was the product to sell! I couldn't have cared less about selling a copier, I wanted to dig under every rock and find those wide format opportunities. On a recent presentation I gave in Texas, I was asked, "why focus on wide format?". My answer was simple, higher revenue, higher GP, DM is usually accessible, AEC market values IT, and I get the chances to sell them a copier somewhere down the road also. It's the two for one thing! WooHoo! Finally a decent Saturday at the NJ Shore. For our family it was Cousins Day at Monmouth Park in NJ. Cousins get together to share some food, share some drinks and get to place some bets on the ponies. I love going to the track and wish I had more time to do it. While I only placed four bets, I was able to come home with $300 in profit. Not a bad day at all. What was more interesting is that I lost a super trifecta bet that would have paid $18K. A few years ago I was digging through some of my parents stuff that saved after they both had passed. I found a pamphlet was printing in 1941 and was titled "800 Ways to Save and Serve", which was designed to help Americans with the World War II effort. I re-posted these on the site and the first one was titled "Pamper the Sweet Tooth in Wartime". Having never lived through rationing (except for gas), I found these articles to be interesting in the lives of the Americans during WW2. Check...

Has Ricoh ever actually manufactured an A4 engine that didn't suck?(816 tp 920, solid but slow) I don't remember one. I signed up with Kyocera because if I'm gonna sell a Kyo engine I'm gonna sell the cheap one with the better warranty.

I referenced that series but the MP 301's, in our experience pushed the limits of that engine too far and we've had so many premature PCU f ailures that we're getting them out of the field as fast as we can. Ricoh has done the same thing with the duplicator line, as soon as the finally figure it out they start rebranding Duplo which has a 5 million page life, not much for a dupe.
