Years ago I use to burn the late night candle pretty often. In some cases I would still find myself emailing a prospect at 2AM in the morning. In most cases the email was to schedule a meeting for later that week. Those late night emails was just something I was use to. It wasn't until one of my clients made mention of the email that arrived at 2AM. Of course he didn't see it until he arrived at work. But this client went on to tell me that he wished he had more sales people like me, meaning...

Twenty years later there is still no site like the Print4Pay Hotel. Did I do something right? We're still the only site that allows members...

Go back a few years before that: There is a whole lot of finger pointing going on in the world of politics this week. For those of you who would rather stay in the dark, stop reading. I would never want to upset your political party's talking points and ruin your day. I really think all those strategies are going to have a success rate below 5%. Think about this, it's success depends upon the person you are meeting with being dumb enough to fall for it, but in order to get the job of a controller or IT manager - those kind of people wouldn't have ever landed the job. Even if you pressured enough to get that appointment and following meetings, the management of that company would recognize the short commings of that person and put a control process in...

DeanW....this is a great question. If someone is just getting into business to business sales there are a few areas that are important to master. LIVING ON THE "FAT OF THE LAND" It is estimated that, before the war, we threw about two billion pounds of kitchen fats into the garbage pail. We cannot afford that any more. Save all the vegetable and animal fats you don't need - drippings from deep fat frying, meats, bacon grease, etc. Melt, strain free of extraneous particles and store in tin cans not in cardboard containers. Keep in a cool place. When you have accumulated one pound or more, sell it to your butcher at the prevailing...

Re: Rendering paper question w/Markers

JasonR ·
I'm mostly unsure what you are asking here. I think the phrase "user markers for rendering" is my main problem, can you restate? Are you asking if the customer can draw on the paper with magic markers? If so, then 20lb bond is fine, as long as your marker doesn't put down too much ink. If the marker is very wet, then it will either bleed or run on just about any paper stock.

it is definitley worth the try. I am using HP Laser Jet 3 to push 6 45ppm laser printers. An IT Director for a local company in here in Pgh PA. (STEELER COUNTRY) worked some magic with a black box, some wiring, and things I don't know about, but we were able to get the 6 printers to parallel print the same document on each machine all at once. Anything is possible with patience and a positive attitude. Good Luck.

We had a ricoh rep come in a while back and tell our team that boxes were going away and if they didn't get on board with solutions/MNS/MPS/Services etc they would be left behind. I believe the solutions will play a major part in the future, but I don't think the box is going anywhere. My father who has done this for about 40 years now tells me about all the people in the 80's talking about going paperless and not neededing the box anymore to conduct their business. I think we're all going to have to get really good at selling software that solves our clients' business & workflow problems. If we don't someone else will, whether from inside of our industry or outside of it. Smart dealers are going to have to realize that more of their revenue has to come from services, software & anything that can generate recurring monthly revenue. This will likely mean losing revenue at some point, because hardware sales revenue will decrease, & it takes a...

Re: The future of our industry, your thoughts?

good luck ·
Just look at all the major MFR's, the "down the street business" is going to dealers and global/healthcare/legal/govt are all going direct. The dealers can't handle those accounts nor do they have the expertise to implement the software solutions that are standard in those type of accounts from Cleveland to Miami to LA to NY where direct does. So local accounts = dealer larger accounts that are all over = MFR vertical teams
