Re: What Brand of DMS are you selling?
ok, so I'm not familiar with any of these. With any of the above products, is there an MFP connector for these? NSI, or ecopy?

Re: What Brand of DMS are you selling?
SharePoint of course. NSi, eCopy or PlanetPress all have connectors from/for MFPs. Starting to dabble in Docuware. I believe they are using an NSi derivative for MFP connectivity.

There may be some confusion here. I am giving the file out to "new" members that will register on the site. Existing members need to purchase a Premium Membership. I will send the file to those members that requested it here and to me via email. I will post a dropbox link some time later today, please make sure you check back later for the link. Art

Re: Ten Reasons Why I'm Still Enamored With the Copier Industry!
Let me add a few: * There are no Government regulations to restrict or impede my business. So many businesses are massively effected by governmental regulatory agencies like OSHA, EPA, FDA, etc. This isn't meant to be an indictment. Just saying that we don't find ourselves unemployed when a drug is taken off the market or a patent runs out. * A variation on the theme above is that because we don't sell to a single vertical market, there are always prospects. Realtors do well when the housing...

I know someone with a DC-8 or it might be a DC-10. It is an older model than you are asking for but seldom used.

Re: The Quest for $200K Starts Tomorrow
Art, I loved this column, especially the lead- in history of your start as a technician. That was me in 1978-79. I worked for a Canon subsidiary in Union NJ as a tech. Just moved here from Ohio. My service manager told the owner after a year " he is a passable tech but he keeps losing his tools". It was a sign from God, I guess. Good luck on your quest. Art, I worked for Office Products & Systems, a Canon subsidiary located on Vauxhall Rd in Union and then we moved to Mountainside. They were taken over by the New York subsidiary. I worked for them in 1978-79. I think you are right about the name. George Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. Re: Little Story About a Man Named Jed
I can't stand dealing with people like that. Such a pain in the ass. I recently had a lady who refused to see me when I came by, return my calls and return my emails. She went and bought a new machine from someone else but her lease had already renewed. She immediately started calling and emailing me about how to fix it. When I explained to her she didn't provide notice to the leasing company she said the lease wasn't valid because the person who signed it didn't work there anymore.... I...

I had a similar situation with an existing account, the purchasing manager had to retire due to a medical issue. I reached out to the new purchasing manager, calls, emails, tried to get thru IT and no return call. Next thing I know they are cancelling the maintenance contracts on their equipment. I continue to call and finally she calls me back and says they got an unbelievable deal from one of my competitors that they couldn't afford to pass up. I asked her how did you know it was such an...

I hate situations like this when you spend your time working a deal and then everything goes silent and you get the we went the stupid route call. Over and over again I've found that IT guys are total email monsters. You can call 10 times...nothing. Throw out an email and bang they are back online. If you can get their I try to get their attention with the subject line with a problem statement included like "Current (Ricoh, Xerox, Kyocera) Copier Lease Due With Issues Pending" for example...
