Looks like a thread from 1996 appeared and I'm not sure how that happened. But, it's interesting about the time frame that Danka purchased the Kodak copier unit. Danka brings back memories also since the Danka name is now gone also. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Canon bought Danka, right? Five Reasons Why I'm Stoked About the New Ricoh SP8400DN Printer

Art Post ·
It's been some time since I've blogged about a print device and there's a couple of reasons for that. One is the fact that there has not been a device in recent months that has piqued my interest, and the second reason is that I've tried to enjoy more of my summer evenings and not be tied to a PC. At my age, you're just not sure how many more summer evenings you're going to have. Thus, it's time to start enjoying! The new SP8400DN could prove to be a valuable asset while we're in the process...

How Many Labels Did We Count on the Ricoh MP3601SP?

Art Post ·
Aight, it's an older Ricoh MP 3601SP, However, we still have one in the show room and I thought it would be cool to count how many color and black labels were adhered to the MP3601SP. I didn't not pop any of the covers, but I did open the roll feeder and the toner hopper. The method for my madness is to bring attention to labels, especially color labels. Color labels are all around us, and most of the time we're not paying attention to how many labels are in our lives on a daily basis. With...

Nice thread about the Seri Printer below. I recently sold a Seri Printer with a Ricoh HQ9000 duplicator, well it was last year. I ran across the perfect application and pretty much knew there was no one else in the US that would even think of offering the Seri Printer and the Duplicator. Ricoh discontinued the Seri Printer in the US about ten years ago. To make a long story short I met the inventor of the Seri Print back in 2002 when I visited Japan. He was England or Scotland I think. I...

There's an interesting thread below about an RBS sales person that person accepted $3,500 from a copier sales person so that RBS could win that bid of 73 copiers. Which raises in interesting question about gifts, trips and prizes to a person that works for a corporation if they buy their copiers from xyz dealer. It's my understanding that any gift, trip or prize is then the property of the corporation and not the person (decision maker). Yet, we find some dealers openly engaging in offering...

WooHoo! Finally a decent Saturday at the NJ Shore. For our family it was Cousins Day at Monmouth Park in NJ. Cousins get together to share some food, share some drinks and get to place some bets on the ponies. I love going to the track and wish I had more time to do it. While I only placed four bets, I was able to come home with $300 in profit. Not a bad day at all. What was more interesting is that I lost a super trifecta bet that would have paid $18K. Next time I'll pay more attention to...

I'm thinking it was 2006 when I first met Dave. Dave had this really cool setup for printing color envelopes on one of the first Oki color A3 laser print engines. At that time Dave definitely had one printer running and If I remember correctly had a few more that were primed for back ups. Back in 2006 it was quite uncommon to see a color laser printer that would feed envelopes without wrinkling them. Could have also been because I only carried the Ricoh brand and back in 2006 they were not...

10 years ago, I sold two 45 cpm colour copiers to one law firm both located in the same copier room. I named them Bert & Ernie and even put stickers for the same on each copier. The grouchy law firm after about a month asked me to remove the stickers and give each copier an IT asset name. They found it difficult to relate to a copier with a name. I have not named copiers since.

Plotters and Wide Format Printers With summer brings the awful heat and humidity to New Jersey along with damp paper issues for plotters. Damp paper will cause print and copy quality issues because the toner and or ink doesn’t adhere to damp paper well. One of the ways to tell if the paper is damp is that the print of copy looks muddled or not a fully formed image. Our technicians refer to the issue as “blotching of the image”.
