Re: Old Copier Brochures & Ads Preserved @ Print4Pay Hotel

Amanda ·
Your Blog was forwarded to me and it was very interesting. I started my Office Equipment carrier January 1958 with Anderson Office Equipment in Great Falls, Mt. At that time we had the Franchise for Friden Calculators, Royal Typewriters and Verifax (Kodak) Copiers. At that time our main competitor was 3M Thermo-faxes. Montana did not see the Xerox 914 until the early 60's and it pretty well spelled the end to the Verifax and Thermo-fax. I started my own business in Helena, Mt. January 1,...

Stay with the Dealer Channel. Only order takers work for direct branches. The money is still in the dealer community. If your unhappy with a dealer, find another one. If you think your ready to RUN a Joint. Find a dealer to partner with. Good luck

Hey Art! I started using Aweber email software about 5 months ago. I send out a monthly newsletter with a customized template. People read it! Best part is that you always stay top of mind with your prospects. I actually exported my contact list from my CRM software and imported that into Aweber. Currently have about 100 prospects and customers in my email list. It's great! Much cheaper than a mailer.

Re: Copier Side by Side Comparisons "Do You Remember Those?"

Anders And ·
I totally agree I have used comparisons for 36+ years, and I have won several cases just by knowing my own product and also my competitors down to detail. I always make my own from brochures and user manuals, the ones on the web and also the books were too incorrect Sometimes it is the small details that gives you the edge

Question: This makes little sense. If it is "unlimited clicks" but at the same time if the customer goes over their typical use pattern there is an overage charge, then how can it be "unlimited clicks"? I must be missing something! From the post: Here's what's not so good for the sales person to chat about: If a client use of supplies rises above the typical use pattern (determined by KMBS) the client would need to pay overage charges

Re: The Flat Rate Program "The Good, the Bad & the Ugly"

Then let me take it one step further - is there anything misleading in the way it is being presented? Is there any way to see the offer in writing from one of the reps out there? It one thing to "say" it is unlimited clicks - it is another thing if it is writing. Doesn't seem to be unlimited clicks in any way shape or form to me. Is this going to give Office Equipment Sales People a bad name out there? I think it needs to be exposed if this is a scam.

Re: The Flat Rate Program "The Good, the Bad & the Ugly"

Art Post ·
I'm not seeing this as a scam, but just a company protecting it self if a user is producing too much color on a page. personally, I think the reps need to tell the "entire" story and explain any potential pitfalls.

Re: The Flat Rate Program "The Good, the Bad & the Ugly"

Art Post ·
IN reviewing what I write about excess clicks, the wording should have been " to pay for improper or excess use". I have changed that in the blog and I apologize for the mistake. However, it stills means that there will be some time of charge. It will be interesting to what happens once many of these contracts are in the field. For certain users this will be an excellent opportunity to reduce costs, especially with those that have a large fleet of printers.

I beg to differ. We just ran up against this with an account that was producing 16K in color on three MFP devices. This program saves that client almost $40K

How Did You Come Up with the Name the Print4Pay Hotel?

Sumit Modi ·
Hello, I’ve had a couple of folks here asking about the origins of your name p4p hotel. I thought I had read it somewhere a couple of years back, but cannot remember where it was. Can you please cut and paste a couple of lines explaining how and why you use P4PHotel name on your website and blog? Many have asked about the origin of the name. Many moons ago at the dawning of the digital copier age, there was a web-based application that Ricoh used for configuration of their digital copiers.

Thanks to the help from a few Print4Pay Hotel members, we're able to give our members access to some of the copier & MFP quotes that were presented in March of 2015. It's only $120 for the year, just bill the annual cost!!You'll save the customer money and time...
