Burlington, N.J., November 25, 2008 – Canon Business Solutions., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A. and leading provider of document imaging and office solutions, today announced that The Processors of Irwindale, Calif., has installed the Canon imagePRESS C7000VP digital press to support their need to provide quality short-run output to a growing list of clients.

“We were seeing an increasing number of short-run jobs that provided little to no profit after considering the time and expense required in setting up a press. The Canon C7000VP provided us with a more efficient and affordable option for us to handle those jobs without sacrificing quality,” said Mark Perone, Vice President, The Processors.

With the acquisition of the Canon imagePRESS C7000VP, The Processors have strengthened their portfolio of deliverables to now include digital variable data printing. For a company already processing over 300,000 mailers daily, this added capability will only further their ability to satisfy their long list of clients in the southern California area.

The Canon imagePRESS line, which began shipping in July 2007, represents the largest single engine R&D investment in Canon's history. Capable of printing images up to 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution with a superior level of quality, the imagePRESS C7000VP maintains engine speed regardless of media weight, including letter-sized print speeds of 70ppm on media up to 110lb cover stock.

“There are many commercial print companies facing challenges similar to those experienced by The Processors, producing short-run jobs on offset presses. The internal costs to produce these types of jobs coupled with the competitive pressures in the marketplace is a combination that negatively impacts margin,” said Denis Griff, Sr. Director of Production Print, Canon Business Solutions, Inc. “Clearly, we provide a solution with the Canon imagePRESS system that addresses our customers’ needs for a quality short-run alternative to offset printing, saving time, money, and ultimately increasing margins.”

Burlington, N.J., November 20, 2008 – Canon Business Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A. and leading provider of document imaging and office solutions, today announced that Printing & Publications of Langhorne, Pa., has installed the Canon imagePRESS C7000VP digital press to support their need to provide quality short-run output to a growing list of clients.

“The new Canon C7000VP provides us with added flexibility. From a workflow standpoint, we will increase productivity by reducing operator time spent monitoring print consistency. In addition, we can now produce in-line booklets and extend our output offerings to a variety of thicker substrates we could not handle with our existing equipment,” said Jerome Elion, President, Printing & Publications.

“Systems, procedures and workflows are the keys to managing complexity in a just-in-time environment. The imagePRESS C7000VP was therefore the perfect fit for us. Besides, the print quality is second to none,” added Elion.

“We’re excited about the impact the imagePRESS line is having within the commercial print industry. For companies like Printing & Publications, it is providing a new stream of business for short-run projects that require high quality imaging similar to offset,” said Denis Griff, Sr. Director of Production Print, Canon Business Solutions, Inc. “Given the current market conditions, this can be a significant advantage over those that can’t offer this capability.”
