Venlo, The Netherlands, 6 July 2009 — Océ, an international leader in digital document management, today announced the release of the Océ VarioLink 5522c system, a new high-end office color multifunctional with optional fax. This product is the second in a line of new office color and monochrome devices to be introduced this year, and will replace the successful Océ CS240 printer.

Ideal for high-quality printed documents

The Oce VarioLink 5522c is a highly-productive Office B&W and color multifunctional and follows the recently-launched Océ VarioLink 6522c system. Built using the latest developments with respect to ease of use and functionality, its versatile finishing options and media handling make the device ideal for the in-house production of professional high quality printed documents.

Industry-leading scan speed

Like the Océ CS240 system, the Océ VarioLink 5522c covers the mid-volume, high-end office segment (segment 4) for which it has ultimately been designed. It has a print speed of 55 monochrome and 45 color pages per minute and features an industry-leading scan speed of 78 images per minute. With a powerful 1 Ghz controller on board, with 2Gb RAM and 250 GB standard memory, the productiveness of this device is only outperfomed by the recently-launched Océ VarioLink 6522c, to which this new machine is closely related.

Variety of finishing options

With a variety of finishing options plus extended paper input capacity, the device will also be an interesting choice for light production environments. Add an optional Fiery colour controller next to the powerful Emperon controller that comes standard, and the Océ VarioLink 5522c becomes an attractive proposition for creative environments where color demands go beyond standard office requirements.

Satisfies secured data flow demands

The Océ VarioLink 5522c comes with an extensive, security kit to meet modern day demands for secured data flows. Data is protected over the network or on the multifunctional itself.

Productivity combined with user convenience

End user demand for easy operation is met by front access USB ports, improved user interaction on the large color operator panel with animated instructions, programmable shortcut keys, easy paper and toner refill access, and uniform print drivers. Long life consumables and smart design reduce down time and further increase productivity and user friendliness.

Lower noise levels and energy consumption

Not all improvements are directly visible, but nevertheless noticeable: lower noise levels dramatically improve the surrounding office environment and lower energy consumption and longer lasting parts and consumables, and the recyclability of these items, are beneficial to the overall environment.

The new system is globally available this month. For more information please visit the Océ VarioLink 5522c product page.
