The digital universe is doubling in size every two years, according to a report from IDC[1]. As a result, organizations today are tasked with finding ways to manage and unlock valuable information from both paper and digital documents. To help businesses address this challenge, Xerox introduced the DocuMate® 6440, one of the fastest and most user-friendly scanners in its class. With integrated image enhancing software, the small scanner can scan up to one page per second to one of nine preset, configurable destinations – all without losing quality.

“As organizations embrace digital transformation, it’s important to deploy the right technology, especially in the first and crucial step of going from paper to digital,” said Walt Thinfen, president and CEO at Visioneer, which makes and markets Xerox DocuMate Scanners. “The new DocuMate 6440 is packed with features that improve efficiency and change how organizations analyze and manage business-critical information.”

Automated Workflow with One Easy Touch
The DocuMate 6440 is powered by Visioneer OneTouch® technology to scan documents instantly to virtually any application, folder or device at the touch of a button. Working together with Acuity image enhancing software, the device automatically enhances and corrects images so that every document is perfectly scanned in a searchable PDF that can be routed to email or a custom enterprise web application. In the healthcare industry, for example, the provider can quickly scan patient documents and have them automatically routed to the pharmacy or billing department to improve productivity and efficiency – for both the provider and the patient.

Plastic ID and insurance cards, as well as paper documents, can be quickly scanned through the automatic document feeder, which holds up to 80 pages. Thirty-three percent faster than its predecessor, the DocuMate 6440 scans up to 60 double-sided color pages per minute.

Its versatility, combined with advanced paper handling technology, makes the DocuMate 6440 an ideal solution for healthcare, banking, education, energy, financial, government, and manufacturing industries.

Pricing and Availability
The Xerox DocuMate 6440 has a suggested retail price of $495 and is immediately available for purchase online at http://www.xeroxscanners.com and from authorized resellers in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
