MELVILLE, N.Y., June 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Canon U.S.A., Inc. and EFI™ (Nasdaq:EFII) today announced the launch of the new imagePRESS Server H300 from Canon, powered by EFI Fiery® technology, and designed specifically for the imagePRESS C850 and C750 digital presses for commercial printing and in-plant production, as well as the imagePRESS C65 digital press for creative design production operations. The new imagePRESS Server H300 DFE leverages the latest EFI Fiery technology advancements designed to offer outstanding image quality, performance and easy to use automated workflows for these three Canon production devices.

Canon U.S.A., Inc.

"The combination of the market leading1 imagePRESS C850 series with the new imagePRESS Server H300 will allow commercial printers and in-plant providers to produce a diverse range of applications efficiently and economically. For advertising and creative agencies where quality, flexibility, and productivity are crucial to their daily workload, the imagePRESS H300 features for imagePRESS C65 will allow users to bring their creative ideas to life even faster," said Toyotsugu Kuwamura, executive vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc.

New Fiery NX platform
The imagePRESS Server H300, based on the new Fiery NX Pro hardware platform and Fiery FS200 Pro system software, features a sleek, modern design. The new Fiery QuickTouch™ software on the H300 server's LCD color touchscreen display offers faster views of job status information and easier device management. With just taps, the touchscreen display gives operators easy access to intuitive system installation, backup and restore functions, plus system diagnostics information.

The NX Pro server can be housed in the new, optional EFI Fiery NX Station LS, a cutting-edge, ergonomic work environment for customers who need a highly efficient and comfortable workspace. The compact design of the NX Station LS boasts a 20 percent smaller footprint than previous Fiery workstations, and other features such as an adjustable-height work space, proximity sensor, and sliding server shelf for easy maintenance.

The imagePRESS Server H300 is designed to offer superb image quality, color management and image-processing performance, even on complex files. Its advanced Fiery DFE technology can process the new Ghent PDF Output Suite version 5.0, helping print providers create output that can reflect the true intent of graphic designers using tools such as Adobe® Creative Suite.

Users can also benefit from the latest version of EFI's JDF-certified Fiery technology, which can connect users' imagePRESS operations into efficient, plant-wide workflows to help simplify and improve overall business management. Seamless integration to EFI MIS/ERP and web-to-print products, Canon's PRISMA software suite of workflow essentials for production print, and other prepress workflow solutions – including Kodak PRINERGY, Heidelberg Prinect and Agfa Apogee – are designed to provide shop automation and productivity.

This server supports the Adobe PDF Print Engine rendering platform and a variety of variable-data formats and standards, including PDF/VT 2 and PPML 3.0, giving users added flexibility to create higher-value, personalized documents.

"EFI Fiery technology in the new imagePRESS Server H300 reflects the innovations that have made Fiery the leading platform for digital print production workflows," said Toby Weiss, senior vice president and general manager, EFI Fiery. "Canon users can do more with their presses because it is a 'no compromise' product that helps Canon imagePRESS users produce even complex documents right the first time they send a job to print."

Automated workflows for highly efficient digital print production
The new Fiery DFE features Fiery Command WorkStation®, the intuitive, powerful job management interface that lets users manage Fiery Driven™ printers and presses locally or remotely from a single place. Fiery Command WorkStation can help make complex jobs simple, regardless of operator experience. Plus, it is designed to help increase efficiency and limit errors with Hot Folder and Virtual Printer automation features. Fiery administrators can use Fiery Command WorkStation to create server-based automated workflows and publish them to all operators to standardize processes and reduce touches.

Fiery Navigator™ – a new, cloud-based digital print management platform – gives users the ability to track production metrics remotely using a standard web browser.

The imagePRESS Server H300 is a standalone DFE for the imagePRESS C850, C750 and C65 digital presses, while the existing imagePRESS Server G100 model operates as an embedded server for the presses. The imagePRESS Server H300 is now available through Canon authorized dealers.
