Family-run printer and copier specialists, Office Technology Corporation Limited, based in Durranhill Industrial Estate in Carlisle, has recently been awarded a ‘silver partner’ status with Canon.

This makes the business regional leaders across the Northwest of England and Southwest Scotland.

It continues the business’ success, having been recently nominated for the service team of the year prize for the national Print IT Awards.

Director Michael Trotter, who leads the servicing team, said: “We’ve managed the business really well during the last two years throughout the lockdowns and recently with the silicone shortage and the situation in the Ukraine.

“We’ve ensured that we’ve been able to meet the market demands despite there being a shortage of stock supply. We offer a quality of service that cannot be matched across the region and it puts us in a really good place to grow as the market improves again.

“Being appointed the silver partner for the region from our bases in Carlisle and Blackpool is fantastic for a family-run business and helps us to achieve our aim of providing a national-level service.

“The latest Canon products are excellent, very reliable and user friendly, and our comprehensive service team, with their vast experience means we’re in a great position.”

Michael and his sister Kelly Trotter took over the day-to-day running of Office Technology Corporation from their father Bill during 2020, and both are full of excitement about what the new tie-in with Canon means for the future.

Kelly, who leads the admin team, said: “We’ve both learnt a great deal from our father over the last 20 years, while we’ve been under his wing, and we can’t replace him, or my mum Joyce, but we can harness their knowledge with our enthusiasm and ideas to grow in the right way.

“We’ve built back up to be in one of the strongest positions the company has been in. We’re continuing the same good values we’ve always believed in whilst remaining modern, up to date and ahead of the market.”

Since being launched by Bill in 2000, the business has grown to well over 2,500 clients which vary from Large PLC, Corporate, small businesses to home users through a mixture of takeovers and organic expansion, and he believes there’s scope for a 20 per cent market growth over the next 12 to 18 months with engineers able to deal with not only Canon and Lexmark but a wide range of manufacturer products.
