RICOH PRO 907/1107/1357 PRODUCTION PRINTER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q. Where do the new Pro Series Production Printers fit in the Ricoh high volume monochrome printer product line? A. The new Pro Series Production Printers are successors to the highly successful Digital Document Publisher models, the DDP70e and the DDP92. Those models were initially brought into the Ricoh product family through the acquisition of Hitachi. Technically, the 70-ppm Digital Document Publisher 70e is being...

May I put in a plug for my personal cause? As a volunteer at our county's animal shelter, I see first hand the good work this shelter does(as well as all the others around the country). There are so many wonderful, wonderful pets languishing in kennels that are simply awaiting a chance to have a home of their own with a loving family. People can be so incredibly cruel to animals. I can't begin to tell you how many of our "strays" were really dumped off on the side of the road by somebody who...

Hey, cool! I didn't even know, Art. Took a look at the Aficio League and there I was. It actually feels pretty nice, gush gush... Actually, I am still using an old Wilson bag that my father gave to me when I was 19. I think I'll keep the new bag. Here's the irony of the whole thing. One of my clients is Saucon Valley Country Club (rank in the top 100 of the country, beautiful course) and I have an open invite to golf, but I've been embarassed by the fact that I have really cheap gear. I have been monitoring the AF since Oct. 1. There have been 7 posts total, one of which was Mike's about the golf bag. That's pitiful seeing as how the month is half over. I bet there won't be more than 12 legitimate posts this month. I too stopped posting when Art did. That's because all of the 300+ edited posts that weekend were mine and Art's. Their code of conduct has killed the AF message board.

It's probably because the bottle full sensor is attached to it. Is the bottle cracked/broken? We just empty it into a small trash bag at PM.

Dude, here's my approach to your stated problem I use PowerPoint Slides, first they are on a landscape format, automatically setting you apart from the rest and of course in color. First couple of slides identify you first (remember you're "the main pole of the big tent" and then your company (if single line dealer another slide for them) if you're dual line, all the better, stress your ability to provide "Best in Class" solutions. Slide for guarantees and what to expect after the purchase...

Press Release (02/14/06) The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department issued a statement today saying Vice President Cheney broke no law by shooting a lawyer instead of a quail over the weekend. A TPWD spokesman noted that, in Texas, lawyers are not considered game creatures, and are thus not subject to seasonal limitations or bag limits. It was further noted that lawyer hunting was encouraged as the state is overrun with the pesky creatures. A local food critic said that, contrary to rumor,...

I've been reading the posts about this unit for the last few months and not said much, which usually is a smart thing for me to do! I guess the one thing that comes to my mind is do we need to be all things to all customers? Do we need to have in our bag something for everyone, even if it means taking on a product that isn't proven or that could perhaps come back to bite us in the butt? I am not sure if there is a right or wrong answer to these questions; I think it is a matter of what you...

And a great two cents it is! At our dealership we needed a way to combat direct branches selling at or around cost to incumbment accounts. None of our accounts would argue about $30-$0 more per month than the competition becuase our service is great. However when the cost difference is $100 per month less our quotes, we can not compete. We have not stopped selling Ricoh, however we are using the Sammy's to keep existing clients where the volume and the need is right. Some will love the unit...

Wonder what a hassle it would be to chnage the fuser when needed. Dell MFP Laser Printer 1600n Dell's first laser-based all-in-one (AIO), the Dell MFP Laser Printer 1600n, is a mixed bag. Jason, I didn't see that dealer communication. Either way, the iR 25xx series wasn't the best one out there in my mind. We try to steer customers to the iR 42xx series or to the A4 BW units. We've had mixed bag results with these units. The good majority of them in the field have (knock on wood) been running well, just expensive. There have been a handful that have been troublesome, with one in particular being replaced in the field. But you're right, these units despite reputation have been...

We are not a reseller for Epson at this time. We are merely testing the equipment and have been for some time. All they gave me is the "list price" for each bag of toner which is what I posted. I would assume CPC would be calculated the same way as a toner based machine. Based on my evaluation we would not be a reseller of the current machine and would wait until a page-wide array machine would come out to consider. The 24ppm is not accurate when printing high quality documents.

Hey Jeff, Art's Box Approach (I believe) is using 4 different methods of communication: Phone Call LinkedIn Email In-Person Cold Call You "box" the prospect in until they finally give you the time of day. Using all 4 methods of communication ensures that you are optimizing your ability to reach the DM via his preferred method.

I agree to a certain extent, Art, but at the same time, our industry has a deservedly bad reputation for being overly-persistent in efforts to reach prospects. The way in which people evaluate products, services, vendors, etc. has completely changed due to the wealth of information that is available online. Many buyers now want to know what they want (especially in up & down the street accounts) before they ever agree to talk to a salesperson. There are only so many hours in a day, &...

I love it when people say that. I have pointed it out to people and actually sold them a system after they realized how stupid they sounded saying they didn't accept calls/drop in's from Sales People. I have politely told business owners down to receptionists that I hope their sales reps are not treated the way I was when I walked into their office when they are in the field trying to earn a potential clients business.

If I could make sixty calls in one day I would feel like Superman. What's your secret? My current process is: a) Research the prospect and company b) Write out a potential value proposition c) Contact the customer to schedule an appointment d) Depending on the outcome, follow up with an email or LinkedIn message 4 calls per hour * 6 hours = ~ 24 calls / day

I don't know Art, makes you come across as a bit of a d**k, if you ask me. EVERYONE and their dog says they can do this or that and promises the moon...they have been told to refine their value message and lead with that. Sounds too gimmicky and practiced. I think the best approach is to be real and authentic and lead with confidence and authority. You will never sell everybody, but those who ARE ready to purchase your widget will remember you. IMHO.

It's a little aggressive, but shouldn't you be if you're in outside sales. If you've got no way of accessing a DM, in particular through a phone call, what options do you have? This person should understand your tenacity, I would hope, because his livelihood is based off of others selling. Good luck!

I’ve run into this a few times. I figure they’ve found their vendor for whatever service and are “happy” with them. Whether it’s a business friend, friend of the family, or relative. What they don’t know is—how good of a deal are they getting?—or are they getting hosed and don’t know it. I hear this a lot—“They gave me a deal I couldn’t refuse.” This tells me the customer just doesn’t know this market—many of us could have supplied the same deal—and we would have shown you why it wasn’t a...

Here are more pics of the Epson MFP's. I think there is a niche for this but I am not sure we will go down this road or not. We are looking at their large format as everyone and their brother carries Canon Wide Format in our market now. The machine does have meters to write service contracts with it which is interesting to me for an ink machine.
