Still chatting about today. It was an awesome day for me. For something that I didn't think I would perform well in, let's just say I nailed it.  Yes, there's still plenty of fight in this old dog when it comes to selling!

I'm pretty sure that none of the Ricoh Pro Series can handle this type of volume (based on specs, not experience), but does anyone have any production systems in the field running this type of volume? What competitive options existing outside of Xerox?

The imagepress is about $25,000 more retail and offers a lot more professional finishing features than the Ricoh. The Canon also has a better reputation in the production printing market. Usually when people look at gear this fast they really pay attention to reliability and quality of build. There is a lot of metal in the Canon, not as much in the KM and mostly plastic in the Ricoh.

Re: Green Initiatives

Speaking of Green Initiatives, we all know that Ricoh has a recycling program for all of their cartridges and that the Compatible toner manufacturers will accept single-use OEM cartridges. The difficult thing we are trying to get our hands around is what to do with Compatible/recycled cartridges since the only option seems to be to selling them to a "Drill & Fill" operation.

Re: Need some Help!

·
I don't know about the MP 4001, because we are still liquidating our inventory of MP 4000s, but from a service perspective, the document feeder basically had to have the feeder rebuilt every 100k pages, so that can create some downtime in addition to a higher CPP. Also, there is no print from USB option, it has an ARDF instead of Single-pass Duplex feeder. If there is a Postscript requirement, Ricoh does not have a standard PS3 Emulation, hence requiring a fairly expensive add-on to the system.

Does your printer slow down when running color? No! The ComColor printers will run at rated speed regardless of if they are printing color or pure black and white. The variables that affect printing speed on the ComColor printers are paper length, and quality setting selected (maximum speed is based off of 8.5” x 11” fed with the 11” lead

I use ACT and also Card Scan for my business cards. Once I scan a card in, my system automatically sync's with ACT. This saves some time, however you still need to enter any sales or follow=up information into ACT which takes time. Salesforce.com has a nice online package I may consider for my reps. You can enter info right from your blackberry, after you leave the call. Mark

Re: Sales Software Discussion

We used SalesChain until recently. I liked the nightly syncs with OMD...real time access to service histories. We recently switched from OMD to eAutomate and changed our CRM to Compass and lost all the SalesChain records. What I hate is the use of these programs to gauge a salesreps activity level. I find that a lot of my activity is dealing with lease companies or screwed up invoices or service issues. How do you log that activity? If you log it into the account then your data is watered down
