Measuring copier performance is not as simple as who has the fastest gigahertz processor.
A lot of buyers do, however, try to evaluate a copier like a PC and think that bigger, faster or more must be better.
Some copier vendors like Toshiba develop specialized Systems on a Chip (SOC) which replace multiple electronic components onto a single chip that is specialized for the tasks required of a MFP. SOCs can produce better system performance than an off the shelf PC processor of faster speeds.
In the end, evaluate a copier based upon First Copy Out Time rather than a faster processor.
