Alliance Establishes Ricoh Digital Copiers as Paper Capture Devices for More than 20 Enterprise Software Applications

Miami, April 05, 2005 — eCopy, Inc., a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications, and Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, today announced that Ricoh is participating in the eCopy Ready Manufacturers Program. As a result of the program, Ricoh digital copier users can more easily incorporate paper documents into the more than 20 enterprise software applications that are integrated with eCopy’s Open Platform Architecture.
eCopy and Ricoh also announced today that eCopy has joined the Ricoh Developer Program as a Premier Plus Member. The Premier Plus Membership is designed to meet the needs of application developers. The membership also provides the highest level of tools, support, and training needed to easily integrate eCopy's applications with Ricoh hardware.

“eCopy and their partners provide robust integration from our digital copiers to ISVs’ enterprise software applications,” said Wayne Mize, vice president, Solutions Marketing at Ricoh Corporation. “Experts agree that the most efficient, error-free method of incorporating paper based information into business processes is to capture it as it enters the organization. Our customers take full advantage of our products’ scanning capabilities so that any office worker can easily add paper-based information into their business-critical applications.”

According to Edward Schmid, president and CEO of eCopy, “By joining the eCopy Ready program, Ricoh expands its market opportunities by enabling their products to serve as paper on-ramps to virtually any business application. This strengthens Ricoh’s position as a provider of essential IT infrastructure components for managing the complete document lifecycle.”

Today, eCopy is demonstrating eCopy ScanStation OP v3.0 working with a Ricoh digital copier at the eCopy Paper Connection Forum, a global summit for independent software vendors (ISVs), digital copier and scanner manufacturers, dealers, VARs and system integrators being held in Miami, Fla.
