Toshiba Tec has been manufacturing inkjet print heads for industry for many years.

Japanese manufacturers that make and provide copiers worldwide are facing stagnation in the demand for their products, mainly due to the market saturation in advanced countries and a reduction in profits from consumables. As a result, they have lost their investment incentive for toner-based product development.

While they are aggressively investing in and developing products for production and industrial printing where growth is expected, inkjet has become a key technology for them and that is where they are focusing much of their research and development.

I suspect 50/50 you will see a Toshiba Tec A4 colour inkjet MFP this year.
