"McCain wins Presidency"

Will this be the headline next week?
Could all of the media polls be wrong?
Is media really reported the the true facts?
Will Americans change their mind right before they pull the switch?
Has the media been the real culprit in current economic crisis?
Has the media brainwashed mainstream Americans?

I had the opportunity to visit one of my accounts the other day. He was slow and I had some time to waste before my next appointment. I asked how was business, (he is in the cosntruction industry) wrong question!! We then got on politics and and I was surprised that he was pumping up Obama (being a businss owner), and he had hoped Obama would get elected for a CHANGE. I thought a change in what, no matter who gets elected there will be NO Change. He also stated that it would be good to get out of Iraq.

I agree, getting out would be good for the economy and good for US soldiers, however we are there and we need to leave under our terms (i thought to myself). His statement was the country was duped to believing there was weapons of mass destruction and thats why we went in. I said yeah, thats what I thought too, however top level officials made mistakes, we went thinking those items there. So, back and forth we went, then he stated that the country he comes from Portugal has socialized health care and it is free for everyone (I thought thats cool, and it would be nice to have that).

Well, the final statement blew my mind, he stated that IF he could vote, he would vote for Obama. I asked why he couldn't vote and he stated becuase he was not a citizen (now this guy has been here for 10 years), I then asked him why are you here in the US and not Portugal. He stated you can't make the money you make here over there. So, you're here for the money, working, and not a ciitzen?????

I keep my thoughts to my self and wondered if he realized that this is still the best country in the world with many opportunities, however those opportunities comes to those who work hard. There is no perfect country and I'm proud of what America has achieved. Yes, there has been some lumps but in the last 231 years we have a lot to be proud of.

enough of my ranting for now
