Konica Introduces The 7135 Workgroup Document System
Konica Business Technologies, Inc. (Konica), the innovation leader in digital imaging solutions and a subsidiary of Konica Corporation, today introduced the Konica 7135 Workgroup Document System. The Konica 7135
combines functionality with productivity in one of the most easy to set up and configure packages available on the market. Providing print and copy speeds of 35ppm, up to 288MB of copier memory for increased multi-task capacity, customizable paper handling options and enhanced finishing capabilities, the 7135 is ideal for today's demanding workgroup-oriented office environments.
The 7135 replaces the existing Konica 7035, offering even greater reliability and print quality than its predecessor. The new 7135 delivers more consistent, higher quality output than other devices in its class with Konica's breakthrough Simitri(TM) Polymerized Toner, which maintains the uniformity of the toner particles to produce clean, crisp 600 x 600 dpi
resolution with an offset-like look. Additional improvements to the 7135 include: scan-to-email, scan-to-hard drive and scan-to-FTP capabilities and an optional dual-line fax kit with 33.6Kbps high-speed fax modem, JBIG compression for added speed and fax quality and 4MB of fax memory that is upgradeable to 12MB.
The 7135 is built around Konica's proven engine design, and utilizes the popular architecture of Konica's 7022 and 7130 Workgroup Document Systems - a compact footprint and low operating noise level coupled with the ability to copy, print, scan and fax from a single machine. Delivering a standard three-way paper supply, 50-sheet bypass tray and dual 500-sheet universal paper drawers, 7135 users can maintain multiple paper sizes and types at
all times, thereby reducing the need to change or reload paper for virtually any copy or print task. Optional drawer bases that provideeither additional dual 500-sheet trays or a single 1,500-sheet tray further
increase the 7135's total online capacity to 2,550. Additionally, the
7135's scanning production can be maximized with the use of the optional
RADF. The RADF utilizes "scan-once, print-many" technology and handles up
to 50 sheets of same or mixed-size originals for diverse scanning needs.
Konica's 7135 also boasts an embedded IP-423 print controller featuring a
300 MHz processor, maximum memory of 192MB, and optional 2GB hard drive;
and the graphical IP Connexion(TM) Web Utility 2.0. In addition, the 7135
delivers finishing options for a wide range of office workgroup or
department needs. The Internal Tray Option (IT-101) offers modes for
non-sort, rotation sort, group mode and rotation group mode. The Finisher
Option (FS-107) provides even more features for increased effectiveness -
initially equipped with two trays, it can be expanded with up to two
additional trays for modes including: non-sort, sort, staple sort or group
sort.
"The 7135 represents an ideal multi-function solution for workgroup
environments. By carefully looking at real world applications for models
in this speed class and the marketplace's demands, Konica has developed a
solution with an outstanding feature set that hits the market's sweet
spot," said William H. Brewster, vice president, marketing, Konica Business
Technologies, Inc. "Considering the popularity of the 7135's predecessors,
which represent a revolutionary new design coupled with 4-in-1
functionality, we believe that the 7135 will be a strong player in this
competitive marketplace."
