Konica Minolta Color Care Earns G7 System Certification

RAMSEY, NJ, Sep 05, 2013 (Marketwired via COMTEX) -- Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announces that Color Careâ?¢ version 2.2.1 with the CurveCoreâ?¢ Module has been awarded IDEAllianceâ® G7 System Certification.

The designation of a CERTIFIED G7 SYSTEM demonstrates Konica Minolta's continued commitment to delivering innovative and industry-leading print standards. The addition of this feature enhances the functionality of the Color Care software in that it now offers a complete set of tools consisting of ICC profiling, process control, statistical analysis, and G7 compliance all within the same application. In addition, the Konica Minolta technical and sales staff includes over 50 certified G7 Experts.

"The G7 System Certification Program evaluates the

ability of a software system to calibrate a printing device to meet the G7 grayscale definition using four 1-d curves," says Joe Fazzi, VP of Media Production Technologies and Training with IDEAlliance. Color Care is one of only six commercially available systems certified by IDEAlliance.

The Konica Minolta Color Care software application suite delivers precise, repeatable color including custom colors and ICC profiles through validation of G7 pass or fail read outs. With the CurveCore option on the Color Care software application suite, grayscale can be calibrated to meet certified G7 standards, producing gray balance and tonal characteristics defined by the G7 specification. CurveCore software incorporates IDEAlliance's G7 calibration and quality control functions for printer drivers, RIPs, process control systems and stand-alone printers, enabling users to calibrate virtually any color printer to accurate, repeatable G7 performance.

"IDEAlliance sets some of the highest standards for color consistency in the industry and having our experts, products and solutions earn G7 certification is a tremendous achievement," said Kevin Kern, senior vice president, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. "Print professionals can count on Konica Minolta to ensure that our technology offers the most innovative and superior color-quality in the industry."

IDEAlliance certifies that certified systems meet or exceed established industry tolerances for excellence in the areas of Colorimetric Accuracy, Uniformity, Repeatability and Registration. The certification program is similar to what GRACoL and SWOP is for inkjet proofing, and the framework is based on upcoming international standards ISO 12647-8, 15311, and 15339.
