Per Image Site, they don't use a specific print driver to print to a device. Not sure how they get around it, but apparently they send the data directly from the software to a printer file (with a predefined profile) as a RTL or a CAL file. Our device list these as being supported, however, out of image site, the 2404 doesn't recognize page size or orientation properly. Equorum is in Atlanta, so I hooked them up with the local office there, they went in and tried to make it work, but were

If you are using smart device monitor port and the printer is shared, when an error occurs, the notification will go back to the "print server" machine. I would not recommend using the smart device monitor port, but choosing a TCP/IP port and seeing if that resolves the problem. You may also be able to go to the "print server" if you are using one and a smart device monitor port and see if there are any error notifications.

There were also some problems with the 3800c when it was released where it had problems on 100mb networks. I believe some firmware fixed that, but as a work around, I had a 10mb hub I placed between the printer and network.

How can so many people, left and right of center agree on something yet not see any changes? That was rhetorical...the answer is because ultimately the government gets much of it's power via the tax code. As JasonR says, there would be ways to help the poor but with a national sales tax, even the criminals and drug dealers would pay taxes. Not to equivicate Harvard with criminals but I heard today that Harvard doesn't pay a penny of tax including revenue on a $37 Billion endowment. I am curious

I just think of Print Management (or Managed Print Services) as the extension of copier programs into the print environment...all service and supplies for a set cost per copy (or in this case print). Sometimes it includes hardware, sometimes not. The other aspect we bring to the table is the establishment of automatic ordering by the device thereby eliminating the need for pre-paid inventory and all the problems associated with it i.e too much, too little, obsolete, employee theft, etc. We also

One of the other components which can be part of the managed print process is the financing side. We just recently finalized a total CPC contract with a long term client and the number one reason they were really interested in going this way is to get "off book" financing. Our deal is a cpc for a 48 month term and we carry the hardware as well as the service and supplies...for them it is only a quarterly (paid in advance) invoice for a volume of prints...no lease, no long term responsibility

This Week in the Copier Industry 10 Years Ago, The Second Week in September 2003

I took the time to re-read and correct some of the grammar and spelling issues that plagued me from many years ago. I'm a copier sales person and not an English major. Please excuse typo's or grammar.  Anyway, I must have wrote this after the Ricoh purchase of Ikon and the title "MFP Wars". After the re-read, I realized that we're still fighting the MFP Wars, whether it's the low cost per pages that are low balled or the continuing battle of A3 vs A4. Somethings never change.

This Week in the Copier Industry 10 Years Ago, The First Week in August 2008

A little of news this week is that the US Dollar is growing stronger vs the Japanese Yen.  When this has happened in the past Japanese copier manufacturers have decreased pricing here in the States.  When you couple this with the Chinese tariffs that may go into effect this week, it could mean that our industry may not see price increases.  Japanese manufacturers might just bite the bullet on the increases in order to keep boxes moving out of the plants.

BTW, the dude in the picture, had just a few too many drinks at the after party from the award night. Can ya tell!

I understand. However, I don't want each user to have to configure their default to b & w or have to remember to choose b&w everytime they print. If I just restrict color, it will result in jobs not printing as opposed to just printing in b&w. The work around I've devised is to install a print driver for a b&W mfp (Savin 9025/33) with similar options for them to use for black only users/jobs.

This is why I don't like General Guides If a customer is using DHCP, simply picking a higher number is not safe. You (and your contact at the customer) may not be aware of other factors. There may be a different class of devices (such as servers or printers or whatever) that is placed into a higher DHCP range. If you want to be perfectly safe when the customer is on DHCP, their IT should provide you with an IP. Of course, I've grabbed a seemingly open IP in order to get he printer working too .

I connect the product and ping it to make sure it is at that location and can communicate. 4. I resist the temptation to make a pc/server a print server and spend the extra time installing a straight TCP/IP port on each client computer for printing purposes. 5. If installing LAN-fax, I show the customer how it works and send a test page. If they ask about a

User Code Authentication with PostScript

·
Customer wants to use User Codes to keep track of individuals and departments usage. Not an unusual request, right? Well, it works fine with printing from PCL or RPCS, but has anyone had issues with PostScript? We placed an MP C6000 w/PS3 and the users cannot print with VALID user codes when using the PS driver. We happen to have one in our demo room and it showed the same error. Our Ricoh DSR was in our office on Friday and helped us escalate to Ricoh support, but has anyone else had this

Re: MT Business Technologies Acquires Ricoh Business Solutions Office

This is the only one I have heard of. In the same week Ricoh aquired a dealer and then sold an RBS location. What gives???? Yes, you are right, this can be used against RBS, and can be quite powerful. Think I'll print it off and keep a copy with me at all times!

discontinued parts for Aficio 240W

As you are aware this item has been discontinued and is NOT available any more from any where. But, we do occasionally have a customer in the field who at this late date may want to "connect" the copier and make it a printer/scan unit. Or, they bought the used trade in from a dealer, etc. You can order the "parts" necessary to build an interface by ordering the parts listed below. Remote Web Workplace

Not sure really where to post this, so here goes. I use a Windows 2003 Small Business Server at the office and Remote Web Workplace to work from home. It appears that in order to enable printing to the printers from the house, the server establishes a connection by sending what appears to be a print job and then deleting it. The problem is that although I try to keep it clean, I often have many printers installed on my laptop and it ends up with hundreds or thousands of jobs in the queue of the

come away from reading it with the mistaken impression that most of the USA's crude oil is imported from the Middle East. It isn't. According to some recent figures regarding crude oil imports, in December 2007 only 23% of the USA's crude oil imports came from countries classified by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as Persian Gulf exporters (i.e., Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain). The top six countries (by percentage of total USA imports) supplying

Re: MT Business Technologies Acquires Ricoh Business Solutions Office

I am somewhat surprised this has not had any responses. Here's a case where the local RICOH Business Solutions Office was acquired by a local dealership. Must've been a rather underperforming branch office. Does anyone know of other situations like this. This could be used to create doubt in prospects minds that they're dealing with "the manufacture" - "So what guarantees does that give you Mr. Customer . . . yada, yada, yada"!

It is probably the same as Ricoh's since they both used DLL back then.
