What are you guys selling out there? Since Ricoh is no longer manufacturing the IS760 Network Interface, we have no decent network scanner to sell. We represent the Fujitsu line, but all but one of their models are TWAIN only, and the only network model is only 25ipm simplex. I have a client that needs 15 network scanners at 50ipm simplex w/ a minimum 50 Sheet feeder. As we get more in to the software solutions and document management side of our industry, there is an increasing demand for
I just got the new pricing on it. list is 17k for 1 roll printer, 5k for scanner, $850 for 2nd roll and $850 for pdf. I heard kip lowered the price on the 3000 to dampen any plotwave sales. yes the street price should be around 13k plus delivery and install--- for now. any dealer that bought into the intro price can do that. 2 roll ,color stf ,pdf. price was suppose to go up after the irga. so street price will be around 13,900 and up. I am not sure what the list is suppose to be, my sales rep
We're looking for villians under the bed folks. The letter was to RICOH US employees which now includes IKON folks. Dealer sales simply roll up as revenue plus whatever "profit" there is 'tween landed cost and what the dealer organization pays - whatever profits sales reps for the dealer organization bring in above their costs flow into the Dealer Principal's pocket and NOT to RICOH US. Sure it would've been nice to acknowledge the contribution of whatever the dealers have bought but it doesn
Too little too late. We dropped the Oce' line last year. We kept asking and asking for a single footprint design and all we got were excuses. Meanwhile we were sellingRicoh Wide formats left and right.
It's a single footprint unit with color scan capability. I'm told it uses a graphtec-built scanner. MSRP starts around $17K, options drive that to the mid twenties. Dealer cost with volume discounts could be down to the lower teens. (So if Ricoh direct were selling this product, it would no doubt be on the street for $9900!)

Both of them looked at me like I was insane. "Why would anyone every want that?" btw, when I looked at the panasonic and Bell and Howell lines, I wasn't able to find any network-capable scanners, did I miss one?
Curious if that 12% number is Pre-IKON buy or post? Does everyone know you can buy some Ricohprinters/MFP's thru the electronic Home Depot web pages? How funny is that - "Gimme a shovel, some nails, bag of fertilizer and that printer there".
Here's my question to Ricoh, when the heck are you going to revamp the W2400, give us color scanning, usb printing, and lower the MSRP so we can be competetive again!!! We are losing installed units to the competition and your market share is now eroding. Heck, this system will have street pricing at $16k or less with color scan!!!!!! Here's an idea, take the w2400 and slow the speed to 2ppm "D" size. Bring the MSRP down to $6995 for the base machine, and this allow up to replace low end inkjet

well said Chuck; I think sometimes we get so focused on the things that don't really matter that we tend to forget what we're really paid to do. Competition will always be out there and sometimes it won't always be fair. The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. You want to be a box salesman then you'll always gripe when someone sells something at cost to get the deal. Those people who are in the market are the ones that will more than likely be looking for multiple proposals
quote: You want to be a box salesman then you'll always gripe when someone sells something at cost to get the deal. I don't think it's a case of "wanting" to be a box salesman. In these times its a fact that there are less solution opportunities, we as salepeople still have revenue or gp quota. So, when a "box sale" does come along you do your best to present a solution to the customer based on the how the new box can streamline thire workflow (because they have no interest in other solutions

GMAN: Ricoh does HAVE THE LARGEST distribution channel! Even tough dealers are upset, its the same with KonicaMinolta Dealers selling against KonicaMinolta Direct, Sharp Dealers and Sharp Direct, Canon Dealers and Canon Business Solutions. The problem is not inherent to Ricoh alone. Direct Branches are giving stuff away and no dealer can compete when service, supplies and hardware are retailed at the price that a dealer would pay or lower.

heard from Lanier and Savin dealers about the change in the sales support structure. It has not been very positive." then you ran up against someone who didn't have a clue how to set it up. Our production print department has these running very well and most recently went up against both a Xerox and Ricoh product of the same segment and had no problem with beating either.
I have always clashed with the sales model used for DM. Why not just let the customer pay for it with credit card directly? If a rep is responsible for the sale, then give them a percentage cut on their Ricoh card as long as the customer is paying. Paying for 3 to 5 yrs as an add-on to the equipment lease is not a very efficient model for increasing volume. Sounds more like doing hard time.

Maybe, we all need to dig a little deeper. Could Ricoh just be buying these accounts to keep dealers out, meaning once they are the incumbent a dealer can't take the business away. I understand in this account they were the incumbant, however if they are willing to lose money (and I heard Ricoh lost a ton of money in the US this year), why not go out and buy all of the large accounts, fortune accounts and leave the scraps for the dealers? Mind you, this is also happening with KM, Sharp, Xerox

I'm doing an article on "A Week in the Life of Copier Salesperson", yeah, yeah we don't sell copiers anymore we sell solutions, however a solutions based MFP is still known as a copier. Well, I plan to post these once a week for five weeks on the blog, I have started with Monday and would like to see if anyone here would like to contribute for Tues, Wed, Thursday and Friday. You can make it funny, who could make it serious or have some fun with it. I will then post on the blog and give you
What am I missing here??? Are you referring to the square USB printer port? Wouldn't that necessitate a cable to accomodate the conventional USB Flash Drive? Have you tried this on machines that don't have the Scan to Media Option such as the B&W models?
Ok, disregard my last post. I was looking at a C2500. Went to look at a C2550 and saw the USB ports...hadn't noticed them before. Great information. Stuff like this is why this site is so great...all the stuff that Ricoh won't tell us.
Sales reminder Be sure to regularly check back with prospects that in the past have told you "it's not in the budget" – "we don't do that" – "we're/ I'm happy with our current supplier." Budget allocations change. People leave. Trends dissolve. Customer service falters. Opportunities once bleak become fresh again. Be tenacious. Assume nothing. Just sell.
Our products are a commodity only if you allow it to become one. There will always be those times when you are selling a box, that's partof any business, but if all you do is react to the market then you won't be doing this long. I always thought that I was able to provide value, but in the last year I have learned a lot about what real value is and how to create it. If all one does is find out there is a lease due, finds out what the customer says he or she wants and then provides a proposal
I would recommend the book "Getting Insude Your Customers Head" by Kevin Davis. It has made a huge difference in the way I approach sales from my past. Does this slow down the sales process? YES! But when you consider that on average you're fortunate to close 1 in 5 "new business" prospects and this process has changed it to at least 3 in 5, that's huge. Keep it up Brian...it'll work out in the end.
One of my customers has one and he is delighted with this product, even though he paid over 100K for it. Never breaks, color and media capability is outstanding and .05 per click for 11x17! Heard today that Ricoh is developing a system that is defaulted single click 11x17 color system. I think this is in response to the purchase of IKON, and the need to compete in HV color market. We'll see.................
Here's what I did for Tuesday, just posted it on the blog www.mfpsolutions.blogpsot.com Tuesday, April 14, 2009 Copier Sales "A Week in the Life" Tuesday! Tuesday!....."Woke up, got outta bed, dragged a comb across my head, found my way downstairs and drank a cup and looking up I noticed I was late, found my coat and grabbed my hat...." and with that I was off to my 10AM appointment. It's strange how things work out, I got an email and then a call from my sales manager late yesterday asking me
They all use the same technology, heat, cool, toner, developer, drum etc..... Maybe the the solution is an ink printer, at this point in time, I can't recommend any of the gelsprinters. But there has go to be a low cost ink printer out there. Maybe look for a printer where the user can change the fuser, instead of waiting for service. Anyone else have any ideas?
There's a nice write up below with comments about the 2008 Ricoh dealer event. Even in 2009 "industry change" was on everyone's mind. Just goes to show you that time does not stand still, and everything changes Please take the time to read the comments from Old Glory, IT Dude, and GMAN (all stilll current P4P members).

This was a response on a tech copier message board (copiertalk) that I hate to follow, however they pull my feeds off the blog, plus they hate copier/mfp salespeople: I was at the show. I quickly exchanged my Kodak lanyard for one from KonicaMinolta. I too found it smaller and less exciting compared to the last show in Philly where I first saw the word "Bizhub" and thought it was stupid. The Pro 65HC is just a C-6501 that uses a brighter toner. Not yet available and with every possible option
Copier Sales "Lock Out The Competition" We all look for the lock out features of a third party solution or a hardware feature that will enable us to get the sale. However, did you know that you can also have a certain product or certain line that will lock your competitors out? Guess what? You can have that with wide format products from Paradigm Imaging. I'll give you a quick story of a recent sale that I had. The time came to upgrade one of my larger accounts in New Jersey, they had eight

HILLSBOROUGH — Tom Murray and David Erman never met prior to the day the now co-owners of Ace Copy Systems decided to embark on what has become a million-dollar business venture. In November 1996, Murray of Doylestown, Pa., already had established a business selling office equipment when Erman of Sparta was working as a sales representative. The pair was invited -- along with other participants -- to a business conference in South Jersey, where they learned about being part of a profit-sharing
The observations provided by 'Old Glory' concerning Vision 2008 are similar to the general feedback from the Savin Connections 2009 National Dealer Sales Meeting during February 2009. This Savin Connections had the lowest Dealer attendance ever, even with tremendous change within Ricoh and the industry. The tone was somewhat more somber and the length of the meeting was cut down to two days.
I thought the Internet access on SHARP products was real cool, but I hear it has not 'registered' with customers and the initial buzz has faded. In terms of security, the KonicaMinolta biometric (finger vein) technology is impressive. Possibly, optical eye scanning would be the next great leap?
As I scramble to stay on top of Electronic Document Management technologies and Managed Print Services, I cringe at Art’s prediction of “the end of paper as we know it”! And even though I think Art’s prophecy may someday come to pass, I feel we’re safe (at least for 10 years or so) if we stay focused on these “relatively new” document strategies (EDM and MPS)…in other words, I’m doubting the paperless office takes hold in the next five years (but what do I know…I’m just a dumb copier salesman
I have sold quite a few of these but have never had any issues until one of my best customers recently bought 2 of them and decided to connect them via USB to use as desktop printers. At both locations he claims that they simply will not print properly. Any advise?
The announcement hit today... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Due to the recent loss of Comdoc Office Systems and in an effort to streamline business processes, the Ricoh Indirect Division will return to three Regions, effective April 1, 2009. This change will allow the Dealer Division to align with the current IKON Regions, in terms of geographical structure and marketplace prescence. As a result, we will eliminate one Regional Vice President position and the new Regions will be as follows
quote: The best reps (as measured by results) have no idea how to do those things. There are too many variables for anyone to say things such as this. Our best reps do know how to do this but I agree that they don't do it when selling to a Fortune 500 or a large University. However, I still contend that they are more capable of selling solutions because of the knowledge they have about how our equipment relates to a network and that knowledge came from doing...not from sitting in a sales class
quote: Originally posted by GMAN: In terms of security, the KonicaMinolta biometric (finger vein) technology is impressive. I agree, we have a scanning solution using fingerprint identification and customers love it. It's easy to forget your password or ID card, but it's more difficult to forget your finger. Fingerprint technology is very convenient, but not all that secure (we leave fingerprints everywhere that can be lifted and duplicated). That's why the KM finger vein technology is great
I suggest asking your technical department. Glossy paper is not recommended for the Ricoh products. Try using a silk paper it works great. This tip came from a printer friend of mine which uses the Ricoh's in a pay for print environment.
Understood, but it is common knowledge that Ricoh B2C products do not like glossy paper period. Overtime this will cause major jamming issues and disgruntled clients. I suggest going to a paper warehouse and grabbing samples closest to glossy which will work on Ricoh's. I know for a fact the closest is Xerox Silk paper which can be purchased up to 80lb cover or index.
Perhaps I am being mis-understood here. I am not "facing a problem" as jason says here. This is the way I like it.....in fact I don't see how you can even sell these products if you are not capable of at least setting up scanning in a server environment and setting up printing in a server environment on your own. To me that is as important of a part of product knowlege as knowing the speeds and feeds of the device.
The issue is the toner. It has wax in it and what happens is that it coats the developer roller and causes light and dark copies. The techs have to clean the stuck toner off of the roller and it will work for a time. My understanding is that the new toner will fix the problem. Ricoh has a developer kit that they sent to us to help with a large istall base of MP5000's but it is only a temp fix until the new toner gets here. They want you buy it and it costs $600.00

Sound like to me that someones service manager needs to find another line of work. Just brighter toner? We have quite a few of the 6500 and 6501's out there and we don't see them every day, 12 X 18 isn't a single click and they were designed for the print for pay industry and CRD's. I see 5 players left, I also see inkjet or some form of ink technology being the primary technology to print on paper. Looking through the other crystal ball, I can see the emergence of color flat panel displays for viewing, editing and routing documents thru a wireless networks and internet access. I think Ricoh's training is excellent. Our dealership training is conducted at our weekly meetings. We concentrate more on the solution selling training than the hardware/software training hands on type training. We will roundtable our meeting and discuss the different solution sales, new products and solution features. Our dealership does not ultilize RicohU as much as they use to, due to the cost associated with each class. Art

When we had the product launch for these new color systems the product manager from ricoh-usa put on the "show" and told us that there would no longer be starter toners. Because the starter toners in the 24 and 32's gave so little yield we have been building in a full set of toners at the start.

I sold a Rioch wireless on the CMF-7000, it did not quite live up to expectations. In this clients environment most users were to print via regular LAN Ethernet, but the reason I sold it was some users that were not always in the office, would like to just walk up to the machine with their notebook and print...simply enough right. Nope apparently, it was an either or scenario, either you go all wireless and use the Rioch wireless or all LAN but not both at once! Last one I sell I guess. So I
So you were going to use two different network interfaces, a wireless and ethernet? To use the notebook computers directly to the wireless without going through the network, you would be setting up an AdHoc wireless network between the copier and notebooks. What you should have done is put a wireless access point in it at the network RJ45 jack near the copier, this would have put the machine on the network through the Ricoh wireless card, configure the notebook wireless adapters to access the

Ricoh Americas Corporation (focus on 'Americas') lags behind Japan and Europe in terms of Color placements and Ricoh has developed incentive programs that focus on shifting B&W machines to Color (hence, the term B2C). In that situation, I'll guess that it is simply inertia. The IT person may simply be used to doing things that way and not have thought through doing it other ways. It's funny, we deal with printing issues and setting up printers every single day, but IT people may only deal with it once every couple of months. We put a lot more thought into this than they usually do.
I have mentioned before that all resources are being invested in IKON / RBS and support (field and financial) is being scaled back on the Dealer side at Ricoh. Just wait until April 2009! The current Ricoh leadership would applaud this situation and toast to it with an expensive glass of red wine.
I have the same problem at a customer's site and we just lost a deal for a 2nd W3600 because of this. They routinely take multiple PDF files, bring them up in Adobe and merge them into 1 file. This new file is opened and then printed using Winprint. Same problems, PB takes a long time to spool and the job normally times out. Once the job has redlined, you are usually able to print it from within PB. I am not suggesting this as a solution long term but it may allow them to print critical

Best of luck to Xerox - ComDoc in attempting to flip the Ricoh base to Xerox machines. The first thing you have to check on is to see if the customer sent in their Letter of Intent. If the letter was not sent in, so WF had it on file at the 120 day point before the lease expires, WF has already renewed the lease for one year. The only way to get out of that one year renewal is to have your customer consider taking WF to small claims court, or wait it out for another year. And if the customer has to wait another year, prepare yourself because you may not get the repeat...
Wow! Never saw this coming. It looked as though ComDoc was positioning itself to sell, however, I did not see it being Global. This is huge for us in the Northeast, specifically, PA and OH. Ricoh's largest independent dealer.... And the fallout continues....
Friday, January 30, 2009 A Xerox Company Agrees to Buy Comdoc Whoa! I had the call at 8:00am this morning and I was flabbergasted. My first thoughts was of this release; Xerox has become the latest technology heavyweight to issue a major round of layoffs. The company revealed on Thursday that the sagging economy has forced a reorganisation plan which could see some 3,000 jobs eliminated. Such a cut would remove five per cent of Xerox's total workforce. Global Imaging Systems, Inc. is owned by
sales teams. Because of that I feel the manufacturers see no other way to capture as many clicks as possible then to be the first source for the client. Technology has demanded a new business model that, in my opinion, dealers are willing to invest in.
pretty much that's how I do it, especially when I see an opportunity for an ROI proposal. I'll build all of the documents and the spreadsheet in my home office and also include a lease and sales order at the end of the proposal.
Ths buying of dealers sets an aweful precedent for that dealers that do not get purchased. Think about trying to secure and account and the CEO, CFO or owner asks this question to the dealer sales person. How do I know that your company will not be bought out by or sold? I for one, would feel more comfortable dealing direct, knowing that my product will always be serviced no matter what happens.
There's a pretty decent thread below about relationship selling. It's ten years old and yes I found it some place on the web. Speaks about common ground with the client along with trust. Take the three minutes to read this thread.

I've always been puzzled when I work with IT guys who are obviously more knowledgable than me and we are working through adding a network printer when they select "network printer" instead of "local printer" and creating an IP port. The average C-PAP salesman sells about 30 machines per month and makes $100 per machine. This means that they bring home around $3,000 or so per month. Tony, on the other hand sells about
Art, You must know that we all wish nothing but the best for you. It seems at first blush that your situation has dramatically improved for the better. I today's marketplace there is simply no room for those dealerships that want to just get by. Far too many dealerships are still run by men that sold typewriters to make a living and can't understand
The PC's that w installed with the 240W's hold the plotbase software and all the licenses for scanning and printing along with the print card or interfa card. Not sure which one. But one of those cards are in the PC that was sold with the 240W. You can buy licenses, however there are no more cards (Printer controller and interface) avaialable new. I would call the wholesaler and tell him the deal, maybehe cfind you a card. This isone of the reasons why you need to be authorized for Ricoh wide

The car sales trainer ‘puppy dog’ close is used when you have a product that you can let you client try for a short period. You want to use this one as the last resort; it’s best to close them without the ‘puppy dog’, however, don’t lose the sale by being stubborn. Qualify them as a 90%’er and let them try it. And yes, I am using the ‘puppy dog’ close on you with this car sales training class. By letting you see a sample of what's in the book, I’m hopeful you will like the sales cross-training
independently on serval pc's, that IT would have to support. If it's only installed in one place (print server) and it has a problem, once i fix the issue there printing is then restored to everyone. After you install the printer on a server you share it the use the syntax to connect to it as \\servername\printer name. You can even email a link to everyone within the organization to install it. The end user simply click's the link and they are prompted to install it with one click. Hope this makes sense.
Whatever automotive sales training may have taught you in the past about the assume consent close, I challenge you to keep an open mind about the new look and feel of the close as described here. First, let’s look at the past ‘assume consent’ close and how it was used. Long ago, prospects were not as educated as they are today. Car salespeople were also not as respected as they are today. The single most important point of a close, back then, was to get the objection out so you could cover it
The print card that was originally with the unit has a serial number that any print, pdf, or scan oprions originally purchased are tied to (via the serial number). That card is worth $1500 - $3000. It's worth tracking down if possible. Otherwise, I think "wide format guy" or Ratio America (http://www.ratioamerica.com) might be able to help you with a print card and options.
I have had my fair share of Wells Fargo. I don't have any business with them now for that sole reason of the Letter of Intents. The only way my "former" customer could get out of the WF lease was to take them to small claims court. I learned a valuable lesson that the customer expects the salesperson to handle any and all questions from the leasing company. If the customer did not do what you told them to do on sending the letter in, it is still the salesperson's fault. If you want to keep

Ten years ago this week and what was on our minds? It was the Great Recession. I remember it all too well. Many of my accounts were in the AEC market, remember losing almost 30% of that business because of bankruptcies, companies closing and companies just buying their device once they came to the end of the lease. Hope I never have to go through that again!

Well, you could do what I have done with other systems, call your DSM, and get the contact at the nearest Ricoh portal, email them the files with the media specifics, have them print and then send them to you.
There is not a Tech Portal in dallas, but I believe a C900 will be installed at the "mini-portal" at the RBS Dallas branch. But chances of a Ricoh dealer getting in there for a demo will be slim. You may want to contact your DSM on how to best handle print sample requests and managing a product demo.
By JOE LAMBE The Kansas City Star The Secret Service agent in Kansas City peered hard at a counterfeit $100 bill, ran a finger over it and grimaced in disgust. It was bad, ugly work. “Too slick, too,” said Charles Green, special agent in charge. More counterfeiters are using today’s ink-jet printers, computers and copiers to make money that’s just good enough to pass, he said, even though their product is awful. In the past, he said, the best American counterfeiters were skilled printers who

card in we get the SC 819 code as well. The m/c works alright as just a copier but we need the print/scan option to work as well. The current firmware is version 1.19.1 which of course is an older version. However, we can't update the darn thing since it codes out with the SD card in the slot. We've printed a SP log off and the SC detail description says "VM is Full". Could this all be from not having the 256mb card in? The cryptic part is that even with the print option and NIC and parallel cards
We have a sales person of the month award where salesperson with highest percent of quota recieves an individual plaque and name on annual board as monthly leader. I am considering a aslesperson of the year award to give to the person that wins salesperson of the month the most months out of the year. For a company with 6 sales reps what do you think would be a good prize for this rep? Thanks for any input!
This is what I've heard from Ricoh: Color wideformat scanning available on new 10pp or 12ppm in mid 09. That's alot of help, nothing for LV in the for seeable future. Color Gelsprinter supposedly on the way for late 09 or early 10. I'm not holding my breath for this. Unless Ricoh is keeping a GIANTIC secret, they have no plans for a 45 plus A4 mono or color device.
On a seperate note, I don't like a reward for the person who gets first the most times vs the person with the highest % over quota for the year. If it is the same person either way great, but the possibility exists that a consistently good rep would lose out to the roller-coaster rep. I have also always utilized a G.P. quota as well and had the winner be the one with the best average...i.e. 200% sales & 100% G.P. would be a composite 150% as would 200% G.P. & 100% sales. I've never liked giving

I picked this up from Vinces Blog on the Canon P4P Hotel Message Boards! Selling Value! Correct in a way. It really depends on how well your dealer principal can negotiate rates. Most leasing companies are within ticks of each other anyway. We choose to add points to our rates to add additional means of profit. Even with points our rates are competitive given our sales area. I feel at this point in time with where the market is USXL has the leasing game down.
I guess the BIG news of the week from ten years ago was ere 50 cuts that Ricoh performed that week. However, that was right after the IKON purchase and within four months (end of Japanese) there was to be major cuts with high level legacy employees. Seems to me that one of the covenants if the Ricoh purchase was that all high level Ikon peeps would replace those at Ricoh. AS Vince would say "that's my two cents".
Enjoy all of the threads from ten years ago this week.

We started as a Ricoh dealer under our first owner, but to keep another dealer from coming in down the street, we took on the Savin line. The other advantage was that we were getting installs for Ricoh and Savin major accounts. Even after Ricoh left us, we are still getting Ricoh major accounts shipped in here. The disadvantage now is that the Canon dealer bought the Lanier dealer.

I must be missing something, but I don't see where this post is pointing fingers at Lanier. We were a Savin and Ricoh dealer for 16 years, but last year Ricoh took away our Ricoh line because we could not continue to meet quotas for both Ricoh & Savin.
At one time we were also both a Savin and Ricoh dealer. The advantages we found were having two support structures, "another line" we could submit as a "competing bid", and simply having a second line. Surprisingly, I spoke to some customer who told me "I'll never have another Ricoh in this building, I hate them! oh, Savin? sure, that's fine" and vice versa.
We had those same issues of customers not wanting this line or that line, and remember at one time the serial number plates had one for Ricoh and one for Savin, so you couldn't order one machine and put a different sticker on it as you can now. Our main issue was we didn't want another dealer to move in and compete for the Major Account deals. But as you said, there were two structures you had to deal with.
I'm curious...were there ever differences in pricing between Ricoh and Savin? I'm sure there were differences because of promotions due to excess inventories etc. but could you habitually get lower pricing from one or the other?
Savin had signed us up at their 5+ pricing so yes we did get lower pricing than Ricoh. The only way Ricoh would give us lower than 1st column was to sign up on the commitment programs. The boss didn't want to because if the quota's weren't met, then we would be charged back for the difference.
As for substantially lower pricing, I wouldn't say that much, but it was an advantage over Ricoh without signing a commitment form. Savin didn't use the Aficio League points like Ricoh did, but they did offer a credit card program that was similar to Aficio League points but the points were put on the credit card as 1 point for 1 dollar. Credit limit on the credit card was $50 that you had to pay back, but points were not paid back, but could be used to pay a balance on the credit limit.

If you are using smart device monitor port and the printer is shared, when an error occurs, the notification will go back to the "print server" machine. I would not recommend using the smart device monitor port, but choosing a TCP/IP port and seeing if that resolves the problem. You may also be able to go to the "print server" if you are using one and a smart device monitor port and see if there are any error notifications.

There were also some problems with the 3800c when it was released where it had problems on 100mb networks. I believe some firmware fixed that, but as a work around, I had a 10mb hub I placed between the printer and network.

How can so many people, left and right of center agree on something yet not see any changes? That was rhetorical...the answer is because ultimately the government gets much of it's power via the tax code. As JasonR says, there would be ways to help the poor but with a national sales tax, even the criminals and drug dealers would pay taxes. Not to equivicate Harvard with criminals but I heard today that Harvard doesn't pay a penny of tax including revenue on a $37 Billion endowment. I am curious
