I feel that the days of picking which customer type you choose to sell to are gone. It used to be that all I had to do was keep enough in my pipeline and I could hold the line on price and let the others fall. Anymore, I would starve if I only sold to those who appreciate my skills enough to pay a premium. Now I get revenue where I can even when there is no G.P. and I get G.P. where I can. Usually there are few sales inbetween.

There is constant pressure to hit your numbers to keep management off your back- the quotas keep rising and there is only so much business to spread around. Lots of reps hop around and bring their account base (and their former colleagues' accounts) so now there are multiple reps chasing the same account, and all have experience. Unless you are hitting a new market, product or adding incremental business to your client base, competition is always lurking, and the market is savvy.

As far as the toner yields is concerned we have no idea. When a customer wants color, most of us will lead with Ricoh only. We have become a little gun shy with the Kyocera color line. I have sold there color printers an there yields our OK.

got this from epinions.com Pros: Easy to change toner and clear paper jams. Cons: VERY undependable. Our business purchased this copier on a lease. We had been very happy with other Canon imageRUNNERS that we had used in the past. However this particular has not performed up to its expectations. It continually locks up the copier when receiving an incoming fax, and will not allow any other functions to be performed when it is locked up. There have been many nights and weekends that the

Here's another Has anyone checked to see what kind of yields you are really getting on the Voyager series? I had a customer go through 4 black toners in one week - they thought something might be wrong. I audited the machine and found they were only getting about 6500 prints per cartridge (should be 15K). We pulled toner coverage info and found Mono was at 4% and black in color mode was at 3.6% According to my calculations - the Voyager series would have to have and 840g black cartridge

I can't say I've seen this. All I can offer is my first trouble-shooting step in cases like this. When the plot comes to Plotbase, what size does it detect? You can see this with the file viewer on if you click on the job, then on the specific file, the size of the plot will be listed at the bottom of the file viewer window on the bottom right of the screen. If the page size is anything over 30" (even 30.001) then it will not print on 30" paper. It may also be that the image is rotated

Re: Ricoh You're Gonna Love This BS!

Wow, I'm sure they have some BS reason like that those ads were paid for by the VAR group or something, but that's pretty lame. I would never ask them to take VARs off their list, but as a Ricoh dealer I'd sure like to be on it!

Technology is an ink-based printing engine designed with printheads that span the width of a page. In other words, with HP Edgeline Technology, the paper moves, not the printhead. It’s that simple. For increased printing speeds, HP Edgeline Technology printers use large, stationary printheads—arranged in a line—to dispense ink across the entire width of the page as the paper passes beneath them. The result is more accurate ink-drop placement and breathtaking print speeds for crisp, print-shop quality

Re: Leasing Tips (Higher rates for fax & Laser Printers)

they do not have all the "alternative forms of revenue") but I was able to illustrate a big enough potential cost savings that my company was willing to subsidize via a bonus for leases written thru Clune. I also got Clune to collect a Doc.Fee. on our deals (They don't normally charge a doc.fee) of $95 of which $75 goes 100% to the rep. A combination of these meant that I needed less G.P. to make the same income so I could offer a competitive payment to the customer and still make the same

If you are working with OS 10.2 or higher there is an embedded generic pcl driver that will work without postscript We have found the driver either under Generic, other, or even listed with the HP Drivers. You are looking for a driver that says PCl and/or ends with .cups. It gives you very limited functionality but it will print. I haven’t done it personally but some of our techs have used it successfully. In the latest version of the Mac os there is even a color generic pcl drive

dman: PrintWise was developed for RBS. It incorporates strategic contact solutions for CFO's in order to get approval to do a total TCO on all of the print devices within the corporation. It's more of a consultative approach instead of a hard sell. Will post more if you need it.

Challenges when upgrading from 3.3 to 3.6

glnsk8ter ·
stuff, driver update for card and 300dpi win print driver, replaced the hdi setup with the one for autocad 2007. Another symptom that showed up that customer was able to do under 3.3 when they use the publish command in Autocad for multiple drawings and it make a file that contains multiple drawings, it used to plot out fine. Now only the 1st page plots out fine, all others get offset about 5" to the left and poissibly down a couple of inches. I asked the customer to have the computer reimaged

Autocad 2007

Wallin Team ·
We recently upgraded a customer to 3.6 and later learned he needed Autocad 2007. We sent him the drivers to load himself (which he did) but it does not seem to be working. After installing the drivers on the controller, he went into Autocad Plotter Manager and updated the drivers from within Autocad. His problem seems to be 30" wide originals. The 240W selects 36" paper or prints on 30" but he is losing image. It would appear that the 30" is the only problem. Right now as a work around he

Valentines Day!

sales stats: Candy makers will produce about 8 billion conversation hearts for Valentine's Day this year. That's enough to stretch from Valentine, Arizona, to Rome, Italy, and back 20 times, according to the National Confectioners Association. Valentine's Day is the fourth-largest candy-purchasing holiday of the year, after Halloween, Easter and Christmas. Chocolate is the most popular gift, accounting for about 75% of all Valentine’s Day candy sales, with more than 36 million heart-shaped
