Mid-sized dealership in Midwest- We have recently added a section to our maintenance agreement where the customer has to check either a network services rider($195-295 per year depending on the customer) or check the box that says if you don't check the above box, you will be billed $xxx per hour for network services. This doesn't mean as a salesperson we can't either remote in or stop out and load a print driver, but the customer up-front knows that we now charge for IT services. A couple of

Assuming that this is a municipal account in the state of New Jersey.....this would be the Kyocera 48-month cost per copy program on state contract. You pretty much can't beat it on price unless you also have the state contract cost per page program. Your only hope is to sell yourself and the value of your company and also to get them to get a demonstration of the equipment before signing the contract. The Kyo equipment is not as nice as the Ricoh gear or as user friendly in my humble opinion

SOCIAL METRICS ARE WEAK - Well, they are in comparison to established media. Nevertheless, social is measurable in a number of ways. You can use promotional codes to track sales. And, obviously, the size of your network is an indication of your success. WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT - Measuring results is critical

Panel members favored having as few as one color printer per school, with the others replaced by less-expensive black-and-white printers. Where necessary, staff members would be encouraged to use color copiers versus color printers, which cost less. The panel forwarded the proposal to the full school board. http

Re: The Office Copier turns 50!

·
The first Copier that I was trained to repair (in Manhattan) was the 3M Alpha Secretary II. It came with a pair of wooden tongs, and you had to have an empty metal waste basket next to it so when the paper caught fire if it jamed under the toaster unit, you used the wooden tongs to transfer it to the solid metal waste basket where it could burn out "safely". Definitely a pre OSHA device, and these were sold into offices all over NYC.

Mac OS X 10.7 SMB Scanning

I was pretty happy with the fact that I got my MFP (Savin C9020) to scan to my customers Mac and I left with my fingers cross hoping it would continue to work. Recently they had an update/upgrade from OS X 10.6 to OS X 10.7 and when I talked to tech support they said that SMB scanning is not supported with this OS. Has anyone run into this? They have scan to email, but want to scan to folder. I even thought about FTP, but I've never set that up on a Mac either. Any help would be greatly
