I hate to add another rumor to the Sharp story but I heard from a Konica Minolta Dealer Sales Manager that something was cooking between the two companies (could be just BS). Also, a prominent 10 year Sharp dealer just left Sharp to become a Konica Minolta dealer. Sharp Canada now owns that dealer's base of Sharp copiers and is providing Sales & Service directly from Sharp Canada.

maybe is that a lot of dealers are doing intial training with new reps on machines, however they are not letting the reps do the onsite training after the system is sold. Thus reps are selling systems and really have no clue how to demo or feel comfortable scheduling a demo because they are not literate with performing a demonstration. I beleive we need to get back to the basics with demonstrations, but if the owners of the dealerships continue with not requiring reps to do the key op training

Re: What is the future for DigiDoc Flow, eCopy and NSI?

Toshiba seems to be taking the position of developing customized processors that are optimized for MFPs. The benefit is much smaller size, faster processing (measured by quicker FCOT) and lower power consumption. Many manufacturers use "off the shelf" PC processors due to lower cost and less complicated to develop. Xerox commonly convinces buyers to include the spec, "must have a minimum of a 1.2 Ghz processor" for their Black only copiers as a "knock-out" feature. The MFP industry will always

This seems like an interesting move and makes me wonder how dire are things at Sharp’s business products unit truly are if they are able to leave money on the table and cut Xerox off like this. I am thinking more of typical dealer demo room for the everyday $3k-$15k deal with a networked PC to demo Print drivers, Web Browsers and some specialty software. Expensive demo rooms are not cost effective as most clients never visit them. In a bigger dealer and assuming the Manufacturer's office does not directly compete with the Dealer's sales team, I am sure you would be able to take advantage of their facilities. If that showroom is too far away to drive, maybe the opportunity is worth the
