Curious if you've competed against Canon for years or whether their presence in your area is rather limited. While there is a lot of overhead to consider (parts, inventory, training techs, training sales etc.) would there be a large base Canon MIF where you could gain a greater share of market with your offerings - if your strength is customer service and growth then look hard but if you're only good at maintaining present customers maybe continue to strive for the lead dog position. This is probably the best article I have ever read concerning the reality at Ricoh: http://industryanalysts.com/IA...esident_%26_CEO.html It is such an accurate depiction of the situation since IKON took over the reigns at Ricoh. The only item that I disagree with is that the Dealer channel is only about 12% of Ricoh's total revenue (as opposed to the 20% mentioned in the article). The comparison to how current leadership at Konica Minolta is steadily growing revenue and becoming the new

We are dual line and our secondary line just collects dust in the showroom and in the warehouse. As sales reps we cherrypick the two lines so I only sell the secondary product line's A4 machines where Ricoh is particularly weak.

Re: Savin 4022 fax problem

Have you listened to the call? Is there the sound of normal fax "negotiation" going on? My only guess so far is that it's possible to turn off "negotiation" if you have two faxes of the same type sending to each other (which speeds the transfer), and perhaps switching faxes makes it fail as the Savin is expecting negotiation and the sender isn't negotiating. It's a shot in the dark, but it's possible .

Schools calculate that their printing and copying bills will rise by at least 50 per cent and in some cases more than double, despite having fewer printers available to use. Once again, it is school budgets that will be hit, leaving less cash for extras such as books, school trips, sports equipment etc. Today, for

Mid Sized Dealer. Sad but true, we eat it the majority of the time. We give it away. I personally spend about 5 hours a week on the phone doing IT tech support or on web-ex webbed into customer's PCs fixing IT issues instead of selling equipment. Its frustrating but we've never found the right place to draw the line between being the nice guy and when to charge the customer without upsetting them.

Walk thru: Take a picture of each device (this helps jog the memory banks) Takes notes for all accessories or options on each device Find users for the device and ask them what type of media do they print onto (card stock, envelopes, ncr, bond paper, etc..) Print out a configuration list for each device Ask a user what they like most about the system and then ask what they dislike the most Ask a user what paper sizes they are printing or copying onto Anyone care to add anything else??

darn I hate it when I lose my notes! Customer is printing envelopes from MS Office Word. We want the envelopes to feed from the paper tray and not the by-pass. We select in MS word to print from tray one and envelopes print from the by-pass. I've took envelopes out of the by-pass and then we get an error printing to tray one and I have to press form feed to have the envelope exit. Can anyone help with this????
