launch of the Ricoh DX 4542 Priport

Art Post (Guest) ·
Ricoh is pleased to announce the launch of the Ricoh DX 4542 Priport. The DX 4542 replaces the JP4500 and JP3000 and delivers significant performance enhancements over its predecessor. When we launched the JP3000 with 11” x 17” capability we beat Riso because of price. When we launched the JP4500 we won with high print quality for a product in the price range. But it took away from sales of the JP3000. So now when it is time to launch a replacement model we decided to replace both models. The

OKI 9800dn, you can get it with or with out a rip. You can also get the oki with out with the rip. Also the oki may be less expensive to print than the Xerox. You can do a per page cost analysis. Ricoh products?? not sure I have not had access to the latest printer models in quite awhile. The oki is a superb color system. Ihad one printer call it a "print shop in a box" Art Post

Our price sheet indicates that the SR3020 will accept the Type 3260 hole punch. Could this be true???? I've not seen the Model SR3010.

Anyone have one of these at a really good price? Have a customer who asked about having it but they of course do not want to spend much to get it.

Re: 240w being replaced?

There is a second gen model, as too when it will be released ......, your guess is as good as mine. I spoke to product marketing a few months ago and asked then they include a "thumb drive" printing support. I have not heard anything else since then. With Vision coming in May of 08 in Dallas, Ricoh has had a pattern of holding new equipment launches for the meeting. I fo one hope that the 240W is sooner than later and also hope that they are also going to include a color scanner. It also seems

3245C SPF -- 9 bin mailbox

Darth Vader (Guest) ·
I have a potential customer who claims that he has a bid from a competitor for a Color machine (minumum 45 pages per minute in black and white) with print/scan/scan-to-email/fax with a saddle-stitch finisher and a 9-bin mailbox. He wants me to bid apples-to-apples. 1. I think the 3245C SPF would be ideal, but it has no 9-bin mailbox. (I have heard rumors that there are sometimes ways to attach these to models that don't list them as standard options through some special harness.) Any

Ricoh MFP’s to the customer’s fingertips. It’s large, color, touch screen provides an easy-to-use interface, giving users the option to preview their scans, rotate or delete pages, and encrypt their files before sending them out via email, network folder, fax server, or to an enterprise application. Additionally, the Quick Connect feature can easily automate workflow processes by enabling customers to create custom “scan to” buttons. Each ScanStation OP comes with maintenance and support, based

Sorry, I missed the fax requirement. We haven't ever had a unit that allowed for both the Fax and the 9 Bin Mailbox have we...from the 551 and AP4500 up to present day. I've never done it but my understanding is that if you add GlobalScan you can have fax functionality on any unit.

Is he the only one that needs the mailbox requirement? If so, set him up with the RPCS driver and have his default output set to the upper bin of the finisher. As far as fax..........well, not sure this is a tough one

I am not a SE but I always thought that the inches/mm/pixel decision is made within Plotbase and anything sending to the unit will display and print that way?

That's true but he's wanting to set inches/mm in the driver so his page sizes display correctly at the client, not in Plotbase. The path is a one time setting, no need to change it. I'm pretty sure it places the file there temporarily on it's way to Plotbase. I know there is a way to set the inches

I spoke with Terry Duncan and Bill Carroll at Ricoh on this. They said that if the customer needs to download the latest PPF from the website instead of using the install cd. They said they had encountered some corruptive files on the cd. I had the customer go to ricoh-usa.com and once he downloaded the newest version, he was able to see the trays. Another happy customer.

480 background haze

Msh (Guest) ·
Everything that's printed out of the machine has a light haziness to the white areas. This is true for copies, prints from autocad and windows test pages. The haziness is definatly a result of the print process and not the data being sent to it, or dust on the platen. I've replaced the developer and cleaned the LED printheads. I replaced the corona wire recently as well. I noticed this initally after replacing the corona wire, but didn't have a copy to look at to see if it was present before

240 roll feed problem.

Msh (Guest) ·
When a new roll is inserted, the first copy of a set is always missing about an inch or so. If another set is sent, the first one may come out correctly or it may not, its hit and miss. But if I were to unload the paper, and then print again, the odds that the first one out will be an inch or so short is good bet. It only seems to do it on a new roll, so I think that the weight of the roll is a factor. At one time I think there was a toner/developer spill in the machine. The tech that worked on
