Opportunity In Good Supply

Art Post (Guest) ·
doesn't always produce the most profits, so some stores are adjusting their strategy. OfficeMax says it's stopped focusing on selling a lot of low-cost, low-margin items to the cherry-picker customer. Instead, it looks to sell higher-ticket items to small businesses. What works best? Getting customers to purchase something big and then selling them supplies and accessories for it. Office Depot trains its salespeople to ask customers buying a printer whether they need the appropriate cable, for

Manage print queue?

Shaja ·
We have a client who is replacing several Xeroxs with 3035s, 3045s, 2060s and 2075s (all SP models). They want to retain their current functionality of all users being able to manage the entire print queue: see waiting jobs, move jobs up and down in priority, and delete waiting jobs. As you know, the walk-up screen only shows the current job being printed, SmartDeviceMonitor only shows the completed job history, and WebImageMonitor will let you delete but not change priorities. Has anyone else

Re: Dirt on Toshiba's 35 series color?

Both systems are very simialr. What Toshiba did that Ricoh wont do until next year is match the Canon ir3220 by offering the choice of controllers (e-bridge or Fiery).

Thanks, gentlemen, for the fast replies. I've heard of MicroPress, but I'm sure this client would resist anything that involves a server or a lot of expense. This is a problem we inherited as the installing dealer for a ship-in. The parent company (in another state) chose the Ricohs for the local division (our new client) over the local division's objections to taking away their Xeroxs. So, we want to give them a simple solution without them thinking the Ricohs are going to make them incur a

Awesome color, handles high volume. Not very user friendly IMO. These are going to be the replacement for the 3100c or Aficio 3131. Modular componets. PM can be done in under 40mins if tech rebuilds in shop. Ricoh has very low target volumes for the 2500/3000. Toshiba says their's will go into much higher volume location. Lets hope the new 35/45 color will handle higher volumes. JG

Maintenace agreements? there are no supplies except the ink. No drums no fuser no nuttin' I would be interested in reports on CQ. I saw a couple on line for the printers and they said generally that the blacks were gray and the colors light. Further that Ricoh planned it that way becasue of the duplexing capability. However, the technology is characterized as "fast drying" to eliminated smears. I have an HP Deskjet that duplexes, the colors are bold and deep, It doesn smear when duplexing

E-Waste Business Is Booming

, and recyclers began receiving state payments of $0.48 per pound for recycling those electronics—with $0.20 paid back to e-waste collectors that bring the electronics to recyclers. “Every month our numbers are up 15 to 20 percent,” Mr. Shegerian said. Then in February, a new California law began requiring other electronics—including fax machines and copiers—to also be recycled, even though no recycling fees are collected for them, and no standard fee is paid by the state. Instead, recyclers

Also, make sure it calibrated for copying and for printing only. There's strecthc factors for the typical scanning stretch that occurs during scanning, which is factored out for the print only stretch calibration.

It is the GelSprinter technology so if you have seen that, I'm guessing you have seen this. If it is the same as the GelSprinter printers, it is pretty good but of course that only answers print quality, not copy quality. I have one on order but haven't seen it yet.

DWG Option

Wallin Team ·
Does anyone know if the DWG Option has any kind of viewing capability or just printing? Is there any kind of DWG viewer that comes with the software? Are you able to see small images at the bottom of screen prior to sending to print. (This is possible with TIF and PLT files in PCWin.)

Tab Stock

Gunner (Guest) ·
Hi everyone- For some reason I am having serious issues running tabs through a 2060. I have everything set up correctly (designate sheet, tab stock, shifting 0.6). It will run about 3-4 tabs and then jam in E. Can anyone give me any input as to what I am missing, if anything? Does the brand of the tab stock matter? I know that Ricoh recommendeds the BLANKS, but would it make that big of a difference? Thanks, Melissa
