Thus, it was time to send another email to the client and the response was "we are still evaluating our options".  Okay, so the typical response should be? I used "I understand the need for options, can you tell me what your other option(s) are?  A few minutes passed and the response was what I thought it would be, they are looking at another device from a another vendor.

It was a few minutes until it clicked and thus I knew exactly what was going on.....more to come this week on my blog

$6,000 per month! This can be very lucrative by giving away 500 each and every month, the mindset will be to make color copiers and color prints because the first 500 is FREE. B) Most Customer Care Agreements, Cost Per Copy Agreements from the Big Boys, Global, Xerox, Ikon and Danka have cost per copy clauses in them, they are in small print and usually on the back of the document. Basically what they state is that if they decide you are using too much toner they will assess an additional charge to

I'm thinking maybe HP, if they can't cut a deal for Ikon. Ricoh is still buried in the Lanier, IBM buys. Canon would really piss off Ikon if they made a move. KonicaMinolta does not have the financial strength nor the personel to pull it off. Xerox is still working out the bugs with Global. Hp maybe the solution.

Print Much???

Art Post (Guest) ·
Sunday, December 9, 2007 Print Much? You hear it over and over; printed pages on laser printers can have twice the volume of conventional copier and MFP's. Use your eyes when walking into accounts and the number of printers can be astounding, especially since manufacturers have the average monochrome laser printer price about $300. Your mission is to capture these prints either with your MFP's or your laser printers. Lets face it, it's much easier for clients to authorize buying a new laser

Danka is dead... I have heard rumors that Danka may split when they do get sold. Konica Minolta is looking at the commercial business. Though I cannot confirm it. It may make sense for Ricoh PPBG whom is funded through Ricoh Japan to look at buying the High volume portion of the business. Considering that they have a contract in place with Kodak. I do know they just battled hard to keep a very highly regarded Solutions Engineer from going to Ricoh PPBG the day he was suppose to report in.

Art, After opening the driver's properties screen from the "Printers and Faxes" folder, select "Printintg Preferences" and then select "Black and White" at the bottom left. Here's the part I usually miss: Don't forget to select "Apply" on the bottm right! The other thing about the RPCS driver that usually messes with my clients, is that you have to repeat this procedure for every one of the "Custom Settings" icons or only the "No Setting" icon will default to Black and White. Hope this helps

Take the Interface PCB print board out of the controller PC and place in another open available slot. Use slot #2 or #3. Turn off the copier and turn it back on then turn on the computer. Make sure to do it in this order. See if the message clears up. Has the customer had any power spikes recently?

Thats a bunch of BS, that one one of the key selling points when I argued that the cost of the W2400's was too high. I was told DTB would allow you to merge wf documents and print them as one document! 1) Are you using pdf's? if so there is always Adobe Pro, however the cost is high. 2)Download FREE trial of DTB(full version) for trial, see if that works. Someone mentioned on the p4p the other day that batch printing with the web client was a snap. I'll try and find it for you. Please let ne

To answer this question, we contacted their salespeople--more than 300 of them--and asked the following question: "What steps do you take to ensure that your clients receive outstanding service?" Before reading any further, take a sheet of paper and list 10 ways in which you or your salespeople are servicing your accounts. Then, compare your answers to the following list. 1. Discuss job with client and gather specs. 2. Prepare and submit quote. 3. Pick up artwork. 4

Art, Shaja is correct in her statements. As an RBS direct rep. I experience the same problems internally as she does externally. I spend equal amounts of time if not more solving customer problems (without response from many within the company) as I do selling. The Lanier merger has presented many problems, which we anticipated. But not as bad as it is now. Hopefully with the new upper level changes in Ricoh Americas there will be some positive changes that make their way down to us and our

My tech support tells me that the ppd is not the driver. A printer driver program uses a PPD file to understand the capabilities of a particular printer. They say the driver is not located on the website and that it is actually on the Fiery. I'm not sure how you acheived the results you did. I really wish

Art: A) I understand about the pump priming method, however it seems like this is assuming the customer was not going to print any color if we didn't give it away to begin with. That is a HUGE assumption. I don't completely get your math. It seems like you're saying a 1500 volume would yield a big profit. If you look at the table below, assuming that color costs 5 cents to make and the customer pays 9.5 cents for the overages, you only make $20 a unit in profit at 1500 per month. If you charged

It seems like some vendors, especially Xerox are building in or giving away free color copies in their recommendations. Does anyone know just how free they are and how they can afford to do it? If you consider it probably costs 5 cents a page and they're giving away 500 per month, that's $25 per month. How can you do this and remain competitive? I think the next time a prospect tells me this, I'm going to tell them we'll do it, but only if they provide us the competition's proposal. This way
