Savin C2525/C3030 and envelope printing

Using #10 envelopes in portrait orientation. Feeds fine when copying but jams at the entrance to the bridge unit. This is when using the MS Word envelope wizard. If using MS Publisher set for this size as a template it works fine. Had the customer create a second print driver just for this size envelope from the bypass tray. Not sure if this will work since I have not had a chance to try it and they have not called me back about it. TIA

rotate print on clp240d or C811DN

·
On the Savin CLP240DN aka Ricoh Aficio SP C811DN has anyone been able to get it to rotate sort print? It seems that with 8.5x11 in both directions it should be able to do this with std hard drive but we haven't been able to make it rotate sort - any comments?

Savin 2400WD Windows Vista

I know absolutely nothing about the wide formats so forgive my ignorance. We have a customer with a 2400WD printer that wants to upgrade to Windows Vista (don't have a clue why) but trying to figure out compatibility. Does anyone know? Thanks!!!

Thanks. We found a lot of our prospects that want color - 95% of it is printed so we have been selling them color printers instead of color copiers. We have sold a lot of CLP27dn this way and saved customers a lot of money. The main thing I miss with the CLP27dn vs the C2525 is the rotate sort so we are hoping we can get that on the CLP240D but so far I haven't been able to get my CLP240D to do it.

I saw the Samsung product at ITEX last week. They say that it will not be sold except through dealers. It is the SCX-6345N and is identicle to the Xerox 4150. They say that according to to research, only 2.35% of the U.S. use 11x17 and the HP4345 has 14% of the worldwide segment 4 copier market. The SCX6345N retails for $2,995 with network B&W print and Color Scan standard and 4800x4800 dpi On the scanner, 1200x1200 dpi print and 600x600 dpi copy. run envelopes on yout presses? All of these questions will help in conducting a ROI investigation for the platemaking process. In a few days I will upload a spreadsheet that I developed for the Plate ROI. A few more tips when selling dups to P4P, refer to the Ricoh Master as a "plate", if they ask what kind of plate it is tell them is a Synthectic Paper Plate. When talking about printing from the duplicator refer to it as "CTP Printing Process (Computer to Plate Process). Will post more in a few

Aficio MP 3010/LD330sp won't show print option

·
Machine has goofy problems since day 1. Current symptom is print won't show up when in user tools or service mode, except if one looks at the firmware version from the lcd display, then it shows, but if print out 5990-005 page, does not show print firmware versions. replaced, controller, print/scan dimm, lots of resetting/firmware updating, replaced ram, not sure if nvram has been replaced, will check with co worker. Any other experiences? thanks

Adding on some usability points: I absolutely hate Konica's itty-bitty touch screen for inputting addresses, file names, etc. The "keys" are tiny, and there is a limit to file name sizes. Another point I harp on again and again: the Ricoh RPCS driver. Can't be said enough how great that driver is. Makes doing booklets, "magazines," etc. a snap.

I will look at this product if ricoh re-labels it. I'm not interested in becoming a Samsung dealer - nothing is worse than selling a product and then seeing it Sams Club the next weekend, except maybe your customer calling you and saying they saw the product you just sold them at Sam's club for several hundred dollars less.

& white or color—easily and automatically. The B4545 MFP’s reversing auto document feed (RADF) can handle up to 50 duplex sheets. Once scanned, you can save the digital file directly to a folder for future use or distribute it via email or fax, all without a PC. You can also print 2-sided black & white sheets with the optional duplexer. Plus, in ID Mode, you can print out both sides of an identification card (such as a driver’s license) on the same page. Just an FYI (and nothing to do with wide format). I used the XP version of our RPCS driver on a Savin C2408 from a Vista workstation and it worked fine. Is anyone aware of any other Vista issues we will need to prepare ourselves for? Man, was I embarrassed when my brand new Savin 2400 couldn't print from any workstations in this client's Vista environment. I've been doing this way too long to make a rookie mistake like that. I'll go hang my head in shame (at a local bar...after all it's Friday

Inclusive / free toner strategy?

Wieldo (Guest) ·
To stay competitive in the market we are forced to include toner and consumables into the continuous service contracts. We use the normal rate per click method on a standard SLA. Toner contribution would be calculated on +- 80 % yield etc. If you have a large customer base and have been selling inclusive deals for a few years , your monthly free toner bill could easily become a large and difficult to handle expense/burden . I would like to hear from Service Managers and Engineering GM’s out

How To Sell Duplicators Round Table

Art Post (Guest) ·
Would like to discuss how we all sell duplicators. Please take a segement of the market that you specialize in and take us from start to finish. Please also post any marketing, or sales tips that you may have for any new reps. ( Rumor has it that Ricoh may be showing a revolutionary duplicator feature in a few months ).

I've got to get me some of these!! I will relable them myself and call them something like a Century Perfecto until someone else relabels. Can anyone supply me with a name of a rep to call for these? Think of the possibilities and the page counts that can be captured where accounts are producing 10K per month. You can meet their needs with an 11x17 printer (if needed) and then have the MFP for the rest of the document volume! Heck, what does a C4500 sell for with finishing and paper trays? $21K

I ran into this yesterday. Currently, Ricoh does not support Windows Vista with its Plotbase software. I spoke with tech services and they said it is being worked on (a new version of Plotbase is being developed) but they were very careful to give me absolutely no time frame in which I could expect any solutions. This made me look like an idiot in front of my new client. I would have never thought that Ricoh couldn't have seen this coming and been a little more prepared. Live and learn. Good

Our drivers are not yet compatible with Vista due to all the security problems. I have a customer who upgraded to Vista on one workstation and he can no longer print to the wide format from that desktop!

Re: Need a solution for this....

Art It is now the end of March. You probably already have a solution. But. if not, ask your prospect if they can print the documents in "batch" rather than one at a time. If so, I can show you a simple, inexpensive solution that can do what they want and more. Randy Kochis 610 436 6002 www.captureplusdms.com
