What Kind of day was it today?  Ah, it was a great day to sell something!  Although today I had no orders.  But I was able to attend the Stratix Quarterly Dinner last night somewhere in the boonies of PA.

Re: Ricoh: Getting Ready to Rumble

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Ricoh Co Ltd (7752.T) shares could be undervalued as investors overlook the benefits of two healthy acquisitions that could help the stock rise 30 percent over the next year, Barron's reported. The Japanese company has transformed itself from an office-machine maker into a global technology solutions provider that gets most of its revenue from software and services like consulting. Need your help!!

I have a customer that has a direct mail company set up out of state. Here's what I know they are running 250K per month through a Pitney Bowes System. I beleive it is called a "Documatch", although I could be wrong. The system also has two installed WP50 printers, I have found out that these are the HP9050N's. The system will print mailers and then batch according to zip codes to get the lowest cost mail rate. What I need to know is about the print stream from the documatch, is it coming in

Re: Wide Format Webinar!

producer for us. Same can happen here with Paradigm, there are very fee players in the wide format low volume scan, copy and print, as a matter of fact I can name only three, Paradigm, HP (over priced) and Canon (over priced and support is so, so, they are too involved with copiers) What I'm tryin to tell everyone is that this is a win WIN, you get leads, no competetion, you sell the system and then you retain them as a customer and then sell them your MFP products down the road.

Do they have some sort of embedded forms on the printers HDDs? If so, can those same forms be installed on other manufacturers printers. If the print workflow is printer-centric (vs all controlled via server/software) then, you would need to research if the same printer controls will be available to Ricohs. If it is all server-based data and forms merger, then the output files should be fairly easy to test. If you are not "reinventing the wheel" for them, then plugging a device should be easy

Seems an easy way to test this would be to have the customer capture the print file and send it to you. This has the added benefit of telling you if the output is PS or PCL. Then you send it to the Ricoh and see what comes out. If it looks perfect, then it's not printer centric, if it doesn't look good (or more likely, doesn't print), there's something needed on the printer.

Why not have one message board with seperate discussion areas? So you have the News, not-related-to-anything, anything that isn't proprietary open to all members, then a Canon section only accessable to Canon members, a section only open to Ricoh members, etc. That way you can post the generic stuff in just one shot.

Not a bad idea, however I would have to have then have to have permissions, we don't want Ricoh people having access to Kyocera threads and visa versa, do we? Plus the board does not allow for subs

I highly suggest everyone attend. This is a market segment that should not be ignored and will open doors for other sales as well. John

Re: Need your help!!

correction, it is not a DocuMatch being used, basically a pitney bowes server with software is generating the print stream

Re: Need your help!!

Geez, I do not believe they have embedded forms on the hard driver, however I will ask. I did just get off the phone with Pitney Bowes support and told them that I had the Pitney Bowes Mail Server and my printer failed, and asked if I could install any printer that had emulated HP. They said that would work, problem with hooking up another printer is that the account is about 1,300 miles away. I will do some more research to dot the i's and cross the t's and I will ask for the exact model

Almost twice as much air? I don't know the answer but I will say that it isn't new and it isn't unique to Ricoh.
