This Week in Copiers Fifteen Years Ago

Second Week of January 2008

For the past week or so I've been doing some research on splatter burst gun targets. I'm looking for anyone that anyone that may know what substrate is used for those gun targets.  I realize the splatter burst target technology is patented however I doubt the substrate is.  The patent is more centered around the coatings going onto the substrate.  Any help would be appreciated.

looking to cut costs, and maintain or increase profit it makes sense, right? You’ve got the Ricoh Dealer Channel, Savin Dealer Channel, Lanier Dealer Channel, and Ricoh Business Solutions all competing against each other . I believe it would make good sense to drop the Savin brand and move them all to Lanier or the other drop Lanier and make them all Savin (are you guys in Atlanta hearing me). Here’s an excerpt from a Ricoh Press Release last year “Ricoh’s Gestetner dealer network in the U.S. will

Word keeping last print settings

mikefio22 (Guest) ·
I have been dealing with an issue with word 2003 and above where if you print a document in color and close out Word, the next time you open word (even a different document) it keeps the last used print settings. I am using the PCL5c driver for the Savin C4540. If it helps, the driver is shared from the server (2003). The customer is using user codes. Also, This is only in Word. Not in Excel, power point word perfect, or anything else. Has anyone ran into this? If so, how did you deal with it

It’s a color laser printer and I while I’ve never used a Ricoh printer, I do use a Ricoh copier and it’s amazing and it gives a perfectly clear image everytime. I, personally, have never had any trouble with Ricoh products. These printers are sleek and compact and made for small workgroups. They are both MAC and PC compatible and easy to

that all copier salespeople are not “hardware slingers” and some of us are in this industry for the long haul. The next point that Art’s blog and Jim’s response touches on is the validity of the FMV lease. My industry training has taught me that the FMV lease is the best way to protect my client base, and my comp plan even rewards me for “locking in” my clients with FMV leases. However, knowing what we know about the leasing industry as well as the document imaging industry, how may of us would

I am going to move away from FMV, due to the fact that where I work we have no sales manager, and not much help when the end of the term comes for clients leases. What I mean is, I have to calculate the remaining term of payments, especially if we can't get a pay off sheet from the customer of the leasing company. Over the years, I have seen leasing companies not allow for machines to be returned for lates fees of $100, even after the lease termination has been sent. The customer thinks they

If you base it off the posted monthly duty cycles, it is 1/5th that of the LP226cn(Lanier)(SP400dn - Ricoh.) I believe the recommended volume for that printer is approx 6k per month. If you just divide then the new model C220 should be around 1,200 per month? I would think more like 2,000 pages. @ 1,200 pages/mo, in a normal working month, that is only about 50 pages per day.

Re: New Ricoh SP C220 Color Pinter!

According to the Ricoh cost fact sheet the targeted volume is between 9000 and 11000 per year. Retail CPC for toner and wastebottle is $0.17 The fuser and transfer unit is designed to last the life of the printer This is a disposable printer.

Hey Jim, Spun like a true sales manager! (of course, I respect that!) Seriously though, maybe I’m referring to a practice that doesn’t apply to Clune. Most leasing companies I’ve worked against (when trying to help a client that is unhappy with their current vendor/service) do not allow for early payoff and return of equipment. Therefore, the only option to the client for an early termination is a full buyout of the equipment (usually not a very attractive offer). When you speak of Clune

The recomended volume is around 750 per month. If you place the printer in that kind of environment it will shine. It positioned as a replacement for ink, slow color lasers and bw lasers. Please look at the japanese brochure for complete positioning. Read the headings and look at the pictures. PDF from Japan
