The Week in Copiers Ten Years Ago

The Week in Copiers Ten Years Ago

First Week of June 2006

Here in the United States when you think about Direct Branch operations it was all about Xerox, Konica Minolta and Ricoh.  Those three were the heavy hitters. With Ricoh selling of a lot of direct operations a couple of years ago. In addition with the recent sell of some of the Konica Minolta direct branches the question becomes will we see movement now from Toshiba? It would only be a guess, but I'm thinking we'll see some movement before the end of 2021.

Enjoy These great copier threads from ten years ago this week!

Questions regarding Konica Minolta MFP's

Jules (Guest) ·
I have a couple of questions and I would greatly appreciate any answers. 1. Do any Konica Minolta MFP's have forwarding conditions for each fax line? 2. Do any Konica Minolta MFP's have an output tray control? (i.e. can they choose tray A for fax line 1, and tray B for fax line 2 etc)? 3. Does Konica Minolta have a print driver configuration tool such as the Canon Driver Configuration Tool? 4. Does Konica offer any type of Ecology Calculator or Eco Tracking solution? Thanks, JH

Two recent acquisitions suggest that a quiet struggle may be brewing between Xerox and Hewlett-Packard in the area of outsourced managed print services -- a struggle that could soon break out in a full-fledged strategic battle. The day after HP announced its plan to buy Salt Lake City-based Printelligent -- a company that offers infrastructure, software and workers to be coordinated with HP's existing sales channels and broader services for small and medium-sized business clients -- Xerox made

Ricoh Builds a Tablet Meant to Get Some Paper Out of Your Work Life

Art Post (Guest) ·
Japanese office equipment concern known for its copiers, fax machines and other things that at times feel like holdovers from the last century, demonstrated to me a product it thinks will give office workers the best of both worlds. Ricoh calls it the eWriter Solution. Central to it is a tablet called eQuill that’s built around the same E Ink display found in Amazon’s Kindle, but with some important enhancements. First, it turns pages a lot faster. Say you’re working with a 50-page contract and need
