The Week in Copiers Ten Years Ago

Second Week of February 2011

I had a great day today and it wasn't because I sold something. I had to visit and account to pick up original docs from a net new client.  Five other vendors were in on the offering, I did not give away margin. I asked "why did you choose Stratix as your vendor", our new account stated "You were the only sales person that listened to my needs and gave us what we needed."  Ah yes it was a great day to me!

Enjoy these awesome copier threads from ten years ago this week!

AirPrint is wonderful for those of us who can use it to print to home printers, but until now, the technology has been useless for most corporate copier / printers. The PrintMe Connect software enables direct wireless printing from any iOS 4.2 mobile device. The software is free to download, and it works for printing to any Fiery-driven printer. Re: IKON steals University of Kentucky MPS contract from Lexmark!

I don't find this story surprising at all. Lexmark is a printer company that lacks a complete competitive product line. Ricoh has a complete product line to fit a major university from production machines down to desktop printers. You can bet this was a very profitable deal for Ricoh. I don't even think low bidder would be an issue regarding Lexmark given how weak they are on any product beyond a desktop printer. Loyalty would be the only thing Lexmark would have going for it in this

Up against a Xerox 6279

Art Post (Guest) ·
Can anyone help me with this??? I'm up against the Xerox 6279, the customer wants the device fitted with a Tameran rear stacker. The only problem I came up with is that the 6279 is a rear load toner device, thus you'd had to move the stacker every time you loaded toner. Plus the toner load is a top down approach. Customer prints 90% of the volume.
