Statement size paper on the Savin C3528

·
My customer wants to print to statement size paper (8 1/2 x 5 1/2). The system recognizes the paper in the paper tray as A5. The problem is when the page setup of the document reads statement the result is a paper type mismatch. I cannot find anywhere to input a custom size for paper trays (except the bypass). Can anyone tell me how to program the drawer for statement size?

1060 print challenge

FishinMo-chine (Guest) ·
I have a few 1060's at a customer's office, he says periodically noone can print to them. He says he can ping it successfully. But, he says he goes to the "port" tab on properties, and chooses configure port, and in the "raw setting" "port no." box the port number is different every time. He says if he changes it to 9100 it works. I have never gone to this window before on any of my printers, never had this question. Any tips? Thanks

Parallel Printing Options

·
Does anyone know of a product which falls between Smart Device Monitor and Micropress which can work in a server environment and will enable parallel printing. I believe Smart Device Monitor can not work on a Server and Micropress is cost prohibitive.

I think the dimensions listed above may be incorrect. I looked up the specs and got the following information: Dimensions 6204 Printer: 51.6" (1310 mm), 22" (560 mm), 43" (1090 mm), 518 lbs. (235 kg) 6204 Printer/Copier: 51.6" (1310 mm), 22" (560 mm), 43" (1090 mm), 536 lbs. (243 kg)

Checked out the new Xerox at a customer's site and this is what I found: Meter reading displays separate meter read for each roll. Need to slide doc feed forward and actually lift off the machine to clear jam in doc feed area. Originals are right justified to scan or copy versus centering like the 240W. To make copy, you need to use touch screen panel to select "Synchro". If you don't select, you will get a copy that is a standard size with lots of blank paper around the image. Scan to mailbox

Setting the "LPR" option in "Standard TCP/IP" port is *not* the same as adding a real LPR port. As the Dude mentioned, LPR is alot less problematic, Microsoft has periodicly broken Standard TCP/IP over the years. LPR byte counting is not required for our printers. All byte counting does is tell the printer what size the print file is before it sends the file so that it knows when the end has arrived. Without it, the printer will automatically sense the "end of file". Some printers do require it

Seeking color scanner that also has user and account code capability.

Steven Breault (Guest) ·
One of our resellers does not sell scanners and has a customer for our vFILER Indexing System. The customer currently has a Savin that doesn’t provide color scanning, but does have user and account code capability. This is important for them. They have asked for a quote on an additional scanner that will also print in color, but it will need the account codes too. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thank you.

Re: 480 Scanning Problem (odd size drawings)

I haven't had much exposure to the 480, but have you tried putting the scan all the way to the right when you feed it in? On the custom sizes, if training is an issue, you could print up a one page training sheet and explain step by step how to enter in the correct information, maybe? I am just trying any idea I can think of.

I just ran into this and WITHOUT the scanning, they were around $12,000 for copy/print.

Re: 480 Scanning Problem (odd size drawings)

I have not tested any scanning on the 480W as of yet, but I always train customers to set the scan size versus using scanner mode. My experience has been that if your scan is slight skewed or off center, the scanner might recognize a bigger size. When printing, the printer will APS a larger paper size or not allow printing at all. If you have a scanned original that is just over 36", not only will the job redline, but you cannot force it to print to a specific roll. Basically, you are left

Hello again, last update from client is that system is still working without any problem for the past week. Seems that PCL 5 has solved the problem. I am still waitng for s solution for the PCL 6 and RPCS drivers from Ricoh. Will inform you as soon as any news turns up

Just a note: PCL6 is a new architecture and sometimes doesnt play well with older sw products. All of a sudden it will print hearts instead of !, things like that. And usually I am out the door and back at the office before the fault is discovered. I dont install 6 unless the customer insists. Actually the same goes for RPCS, if the customer has a need for some of the featues that is one thing, but if not, it has a longer learning curve so again I go with the PCL5e or c

Re: 1060 print challenge

I have never seen or heard of the tcp/ip port re-configuring itself, however i have heard of weird things happening if more than 9 or 10 people try to print using 9100 at the same time. With that being said the quickest remedy may be to set printing up using LPR, as it has always seemed to me anyway to be the more stable, especially when printing to a "dumbed" down version of the UNIX OS, which is what is on that print controller. If you are unfamiliar with setting up LPR printing relpy back

Re: Unix / Linux with 240

I don't have someone with the 240w, but I do have customers running a 470w on Unix. The big uphill battle is you NEED the Unix representative to work through the settings in UNIX to get it to print. Email me at rmyers@mtbt.com and I can go through the channels to get you the information you need.

Nice chart IT Dude but I dont see a way to configure the port for Byte counting. When LPR is required I set the printer up using "Standard TCP/IP Port" and when finished I can configure LPR including "enable byte counting"

Re: 1060 print challenge

Jomama (Guest) ·
Thanks for the info Jason. When I have called Ricoh for help in the past they always include the Byte counting option. So maybe they are just covering all the bases. Never a bad idea.

Unix is officially supported for all RW's. Take a look at the User Manual for an explanation of how the FTP process for Unix / Linux works. Also, you have PCWEB available for set printing out of I.E. or Netscape

7030D Scanning Problem

·
We have a 7030D in the field that is all of a sudden messing up with scanning. It will cut off several inches of the image from one side of the print and then put it on the other side. Kind of flip-flopping the image. Copying is fine. Controller has been reformatted and software reloaded but it still messes up even if we hook the controller up to a different 7030D. Only thing in common is the interface cards and cable. Does anyone have any 7030D's still out there and any problems like

240W Paper Shredding Problem

·
We seem to have a problem with the 240W paper cutters shredding paper from the roll. In my demo room, this has caused many misfeeds. I have even had a print exit the 240W with several little shreds of paper (approx. 14" x 1/4")actually fused to the image. Apparently they were laying on the paper as it passed the drum and went through the fusing section. From the finished print, you were able to grab a loose end of one of the shreds and pull it and the toner right off the page! One of my
