Connect the MFPs you sell to any folder

Are you looking for a trendy topic to talk about with your prospects and customers? Get a conversation starting by asking if they can scan to any folder. Take Art’s talk track of last month for example:

"Wouldn't you want to be able to search your "scan to" folders from the MFP, rather than scanning to a folder or an email address and then going back to your desk to access the file, name the file and then move the file to your desired location?"

Their pain: If you're not solving this issue then your competition will. Dig deep, find out what kind of documents they are scanning, to which destinations, even ask to see the whole process. Most prospects and customers take minutes to get a single file to the destination it needs to be.

Connected MFPScan to any folder: Save your customers lots of time by connecting their device to not just some, but all applications they use for document storage. Whether they want to scan to Microsoft SharePoint, Microsft Office 365, Google Drive, Dropbox or another application, you can help them with a single solution.

Sell solutions not hardware: With Udocx you can sell MFPs from brands like HP, Ricoh and Sharp that connect directly to applications such as SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox and many more. The solution is cloud based, easy to install on MFPs with internet browser and can be easily deployed across the organization. When signing the lease, your customer will not only be buying the MFP, but will improve the document flows throughout his company.

Free trial: Get yourself, your prospects and your customers a free trial and experience the amount of time that can be saved using Udocx. Visit www.udocx.com or email info@fenestrae.com and see what reseller opportunities there are for you!

Hi Timw,

I would definitely recommend setting up multiple shared folders! I know this will save your customers a lot of time and really add value to the service you provide. Especially when every end-user gets direct access to the folders he or she uses most.

Having this kind of conversation with your prospects is sure to give you insight into what is important to them and which solution will suit their needs best. You'll be surprised how many prospects aren't sure what the MFPs will be used for and how much they rely on your advise.

Cheers,

Iris

Hi Iris,

Thank you for the response!

This helps, but the folders still need to be pre-defined, which would be the same thing as setting up a shared folder, no?  And the MFP can do that natively.

So out of the box, the installing technician could conceivably set up "Scan to Dropbox -Orders," "Scan to Drop-Box - Leads," "Scan to Drop-Box - Accounts Receivable" since no software is needed for this.  Or am I incorrect?

It sounds like the major plus to Udocx would be the ability to view the folder tree in Sharepoint, and the ease in which end-users can create their own Apps/shared-folders.

In addition to Udcox, it sounds like the other suggestion you provide is to do a bit more digging in the investigation phase to find out what the customer is scanning and where they are scanning to.  This way the installing technician can set up multiple pre-defined scan-to folders, rather than the standard scan-to a single shared folder.  This is an outstanding tip, a way for me to differentiate myself from my competition, and something I'm not currently doing.

Thank you!

Hello TimW,

Thank you for that question. I think it is very relevant, especially as we do have the browse feature for SharePoint.

For cloud services such as Dropbox, Micorosoft OneDrive and Google Drive, Udocx enables users to scan directly to any pre-define folder. This means users can scan to several specific destinations within Dropbox.

For example, if you want to scan to the 'orders' folder within Dropbox regularly, you can make a 'scan to orders' App. This App will be available to you from any device as soon as you are logged in to Udocx and will allow you to scan directly to the defined Dropbox folder.

Destination Apps for in the MFP touch menu can be defined per user, department and companywide. Furthermore, users can be allowed to create their own Apps as well, decreasing the burden on IT.

I believe this is a big step in the right direction compared to sending all scans to your own email. What do you think?

When connecting an MFP to say DropBox, the MFP still doesn't allow for an end-user to view that DropBox's folder tree (without added software), correct?  So essentially the customer scans to DropBox, heads back to their computer, and then searches around the DropBox folder until they find their scanned file - which isn't much different than the issue the end-user described in the first place?

Am I correct in this?

I've been looking around for a solution that can help with this that won't break the bank, and is easy to explain to the end-user.

Thoughts?  (Great blog by the way.)
